Had my 37 week appointment today. According to Midwife baby is head down, dropped, and I'm 3 cm dilated. I've been having regular BH since Friday, and I've been having some really odd achy sharp pain in my lower stomach and sharp pain's in what I think is my cervix.

Does any one else think labor could be coming soon? I was just put on bed rest today because my blood pressure went up a bit and I'm just hoping baby will come soon so I don't have to sit around for 3+ weeks doing nothing.

Is this your first?

To be 3cm dilated is significant, 1 more cm and u could be considered in active labour, however some people can dilate and it stay like that!

I'd think it is soon but that's just cos I think 3cm is a lot x

I agree 3cm is a lot, with my first I got to the hospital at 3cm and he was born a few hours later. It's a shame about the bed rest as I'd say get on your ball and bounce lol.

You could always try dtd that always works for me, not sure it's good for your bp though lol

Personally I'd be on the ball and dtd as this definitely helps haha x

I was 3cm dilated from 36 weeks, DD came at 41 weeks. However my MW said that more often ladies would have their babies sooner being dilated to 3cm. The fact that you've been having BH's and pains definitely seems like a good sign too! Hopefully your LO makes an appearance soon :).

Had another appointment today to see if I had any protein in my urine. I didn't. If I had, she was going to induce me today. However, she told me i was 80% effaced. She also said, when I was complaining about not being able to work, that unless I was a prostitute I couldn't work. So I'm assuming dtd is fine . We are gonna be doing everything we can to get this baby moving by this weekend.
