So, I've always had really horrible period cramps. Like, where I'm on the ground rolling around crying because nothing helps. No ibuprophen, no advil, no nothing. I just had to wait them out. Once they started I could barely walk. Granted, they only lasted for a couple days on and off, but it was awful. (High estrogen runs in my family in all the women, which can sometimes cause extended periods, or excessive and overly intense period cramps) I was just wondering if any body else has had these sort of pains, and for those of you who have already gone through labor/childbirth ... What is it like compared to those sorts of period cramps? I've heard that it's the same, I've heard it's not as bad, and I've heard it's much worse. I'm just curious. Obviously, giving birth is going to be like nothing else, but what about the labor pains?

On another note ! Peeing. I swear I have to pee like twenty times every five or ten minutes. I've been to the obgyn to be checked for a UTI and they said I'm all good. I've always been a crazy water drinker, like I keep a gallon of water in my room and in the car at all times, plus my waterbottle that I tote around. Since I'm pregnant now I know that hydration is really important, but I've found myself drinking less water than usual and my pee being darker than usual because I just can't stand going to the bathroom so much! It's like 10 times a night so I don't drink water before bed- and I still have to pee in the morning! UGH anybody else have this sorta thing?

I had the 'constant peeing' thing a couple of time during pregnancy and it turned out to be UTI, but if you've been given the all-clear on that front then don't worry too much.

As for labor pains.. I honestly think it's different for everybody. Some people have very high pain-thresholds, whereas other people's are low. Some people who describe labor are describing it as raw and unmedicated.. while some people describing it have only experienced it with an epidural. You're always going to hear different things from everybody!

For me (no pain relief), it was manageable until around 7cm then it became excruciating.. total agony that made me shout and feel out of control and not know what was going on around me.. BUT I have heard women say they've had natural unmedicated births that were no worse then a bad toothache. I also would have had a different experience if I'd chosen pain relief earlier on which is always an option so don't worry too much! xx

I once pee'd 3 times in 5 minutes :dohh:

For me labour pains were awful. I had very mild contractions at 39 + 1 & 39 + 2 and they were like quite bad pains, labour for me was pretty sore even when the contractions weren't that mild, when the real big ones kick in you can't talk through them! It is different for everyone though, I have a very low pain threshold! I had 37 hours of mine too and they started at 4 minutes apart, so I found mine so intense especially as I was knackered and I could do nothing but stay on my back due to being monitored, but it does differ person-to-person :)

My labour pains were just like REALLY bad period cramps. I have a very high pain thresehold. Had epi at 6cm but it slipped so I got to 9cm with no pain relief only gas (it did squat for me) Then got a spinal block.

I was peeing at least 6 times a night by 41 weeks lol

Well I'm going to try to have my LO at a midwife birth center with no epi or any pain relief... all natural. I'm scared, but I want to at least try it. I hate hospitals with a passion (due to bad experiences when I was younger) and I try to avoid them at any expense. I've had to go in a few times in the past couple of years cause I broke my hip, had to get a tetness shot, etc... but to have my baby I definitely don't want to be in a hospital! I just don't trust it ( lots of people hate that I feel this way haha)

Anyways, unless anything goes seriously wrong I'll be at the midwife center with no pain relief. I'm a little nervous for the labor pains, but I'm also kind of happy to try things out with no relief. I have very high pain tolerance, one of the reasons I've had to be in the hospital so much is because I've broken things and not known it so I'm just wondering how labor will be.

I f'ckin hate peeing so much! I swear it's like three or four times a night and especially when I wake up. Not to mention the little man likes to punch me right in the bladder every chance he gets! haha

Thanks for all the input ladies!! :) :hugs:

I pee so much too its fucking sucks!
As for the pains I have never had a single bad period cramp in my whole life so I hope not because that would be totally new lol.
