On Tuesday the 04th october 2011 I went for my 38 week app with the consulant where on check up I still had 1+ protein and my bp was 140/99 re checked at 145/105 so went to see the Dr straight away,,, she was rather dismissive so I layed down why I was worried, I said with a bp of 140/99 I think thats one thing with out the rest she was like its not its 140/90. you can go home... I said please re look at notes,,, she looked and saw both readings and said oh we shall admit you is that ok? Like I had the choice to say no....
So off I went to the hospital (I was in the outpatients clinic) by the time I got there they checked me and my bp was 100/60!! I was like jeeze there gonna send me home tomorrow I just wanna see whats happening cause I have visual distubances and had my eyes checked with pressures ect... glass prisims on my actual eye on the monday!! and Nothing wrong? They said its prgnancy.
So on the wednesday the Dr came and said im not happy with your BP I cannot put you on any meds cause you get low BP and if we give you something to lower your BP when its low with out moniteing it you will collapse and put baby at risk even more..done an internal said he could feel babys head and waters ( I had a slight excess water), Procedeed to say today you are 38 weeks I want to start labour today!! I was shaking,, I was ready for anything but to hear labour today,, induction,,, I was scared.... so he went to check with the consulatant and he agreed... induction! He said tonight we will pop the first gel in and break your water tomorrow... that night came the night team agreed but no beds then an hour later.. bed avaliable... :-S!!! I packed up and went into the induction suite,, 1st gel put in monitered till 1am thursday morning... Zzzzz finally got some sleep woke up every hour needing a wee then 5 oclock came back on the moniter for an hour... the morning team came and said oh no! Were not breaking this ladies water! One more gel.. I was like uh? I have not even checked me to see how effective the last gel was? He said well you are only 38 weeks... like I wanted to be induced?!
So there I sat ALL day with another gel, well I didnt sit there all-day I walked around the hospital in my PJ bottoms PJ dress and sexy DVT stockings with my duck slippers and pink dressing gown..! lol I was a sight!
So the night team came back on and was rather angry,, they said this lad was meant to have her waters broken this morning! What on earth is happening ( they did mention I was staff and that no I shouldnt get pref treatment but the ward was quiet all day and no emergencys so why wasnt I done)
so they got me into delivery suite at 21:30...
so there I was 06/10/2011 in deliery suite... getting my waters broken... nothing to how I had planned my labour...
my waters were broken at 22:15 and we was told if I dont get contractions within 2 hours I would have to have a drip...
but No... no need for that... within in an hour I was on gas and air and was crying for my mum, my hubby Trevor called her and she came...
from there it was a blur.. o over did it on the Gas and Air and knew I needed water but I could feel my stomach filling up so only took it sparingly,, then
the words came out of my mouth...
IM GONNA BE SICK!
From what my hubby said 3 bowls of projectile vomit and the floor.... Oops
I then came of G&A and could feel contractions! Eep they were painfull but honestly if I didnt go mad with the G&A I could have dealt with them!
I screamed for an epi! And they came they had to do bloods ect as my platlets were low on the last...
they checked me and I was 7cm!
I honestly knew I could have done it with out the epi, but I still had it,, sitting there for what seemed to be an eternity having this stupid epi in my back,,, and after it all they didnt give me full dose as it was to late and in the end it didnt even work!
Trevor did look down there and told mum too and she was like nooo! But then Midwife said your gonna have to get that blanket now! I remember her being quiet firm with mum and she said hold babys head did u see that did u see that.... then when baby was born she told us that the cord was around his neck but other than that he was perfect
after the Epi, 20 mins and 5 pushes after our baby
