Hi I would like peoples opinion on labour of what pain releaf and different outcomes of labour so I no roughly what to expect its going to be the first time for me and I'm over thinking about it. Thank you for your time.

Gas and air all the way!! That stuff is amazing! :haha: and try not worry too much about labour,I was the same as you worrying like mad and obviously it's painful but it is bearable and honestly I would do it again in a heartbeat! I'm actually jealous of someone I know just now who's due soon because i'd love to do it again that much! :haha: it's the best experience ever! Nothing can compare to meeting your baby for the first time :)

Depends what position your baby is in and how long it takes you to progress! If your baby is positioned well and you are progressing nicely I would strap a TENS machine on and then start on the G&A when you struggle to cope!

Loved hot water! hot shower and hot bath was divine!

Yes, water is amazing! I made it to 7cm just sitting in the shower. Then during transition I used gas & air to get me to 10cm, then pushed with nothing. It was such an amazing experience and I'd do it again tomorrow. :)

I spent some time in the bath before I went into hospital in labour with my first and it definately helped ALOT! This time around I'm asking for a water birth purely for that reason. I also think gas and air was amazing! Wanted to bring it home lol! I also had a shot of pethidine and it was the worst thing I did, it helped take the edge off the pain of the contractions but it made me far too drowsy during the pushing stage. x

I used Natal Hypnotherapy, and had a completely pain free and drug free labour and home birth. I can highly recommend it! I also had a birth pool, which I used for about an hour, but didn't actually give birth in it, and it was lovely. My birth story is in my siggy if you want a positive story to read.

I had a nice birth, I used a tens machine for the first lot of contractions but the it gets to a point where it's not very useful anymore. I didn' want drugs and the G&A made me really dizzy so I opted to go pain free. It was fine :) I found walking about was helpful. I didn't notice the after birth or the jab to speed it up as I had a baby on me :) I think next time I'm going to avoid having the jab to speed up the after birth x

I didn't have tom in water but I did spend a lot of time in the bath, it was brilliant! Except for getting out. I thought the contractions were fine but then I got out and they were soooo intense! I want to ry for a complte water birth next time just so I don't have to get out and feel the difference :haha:

That is exactly how I hope to do it!

I don't no what to have I'm a scared of labour :(

I'm right there with you :hugs:. I've said it before and will, no doubt say it again, I was so scared of labour that I sat in my Drs office and bawled about it, and that was before even ttc! I went from that to a pain free, drug free homebirth, and I have to say that natal hypnotherapy was the turning point. I urge you, if you have that much fear, to embrace every possible option to ease your fear. It is possible to shift your perception.

I think the main thing I keep thinking is of the pain not only that I also think how do you push I no this sounds silly

why does it sound silly?! You've not experienced it before, so its understandable. You need to look at something to calm yourself. Being upset, stressed and worried will not help you achieve a comfortable birth.
As for pushing, I didn't push as such, my body did it for me (my birth story explains it better), but I kind of get what people say when they say about pushing as though youre doing a poo.
Please dont worry, but take control of it now. Start to look at things you can do to help yourself :)
