I am on month 4 with met. I we are unexplained. We have an appointment in two weeks to see what our next steps are since we haven't had any success. I am currently 3dpo with fingers crossed.
Been on it 18 months....no BFP. Am going to see a new FS on Wed and will ask if I need to carry on taking it - it does seem to be doing anything for me
18 months!!! Wow That is a very very long time. I was told 3 months and if nothing happened then we would be looking into something different... on to month 4 with met until we meet with the FS about the IUI in 2 weeks.
at least you ladies have alternative if met doesnt work, the fs refused to see me becasue i needed to lose 4 lbs to get my bmi to 29... yep you read that right 4lbs!!! so i have been put on met and left.... i am hoping i can get the bfp and so the fs can stick it
maria, you have done the right thing changing fs the last one sounds like a doofus, 18 mths is wayyyy long, and if it was going to help you it would have by now!!
I've been on it for about 6 months and it helped me lose weight and ovulate - so that's 2 good things! No baby yet though
I've been told I won't need Clomid because I am ovulating so am now waiting my appt for the first appt at the Assisted Conception Unit & Guy's & St Thomas'.
Betty that surprises me, my BMI is around 34 and I've still been put forward - they will see you if you're below 35 I think (at Guy's & St Thomas') - but I have been lucky with a great Gynaecologist
Trying times, the fs I was referred to has all the referrals go through her and she decides who gets seen, the main problems being that the pct here cut the funding last oct and put it back in may this year so you can imagine the backlog of referrals she had so I was cannon fodder, I think it's awful how they play god with ppls lives!
I have an app in 2 weeks to get te ball rolling again as I now have a BMI of 29!
You can't just stop taking Met. If I were to get pg now I need to carry on taking it throughout pregnancy otherwise risk of m/c is very high.
Also, you shouldn't stop taking met when you start taking Clomid - the two work better together.
So although I do agree Ive been taking it for a long time without BFP Met is not something one can just stop taking as it will have some bad implications
I have been on Metformin for about three weeks!! I am 25 and TTC baby #2. I am currently two days late! I've had alot of twinges on both sides. I'm really hoping Metformin gives us success soon!!
I've been on it for 3 1/2 months now and it's helped me lose nearly 40 pounds and seems to be bringing around my natural cycles slowly. No ovulation yet, but my obgyn was very encouraged by the fact that I actually had some spotting in the last cycle (on my own that is!). She really believes that I'll start my natural cycle in the next 4 months. So we'll see. If nothing by then, then I'll be going on to clomid.
Ive been on it for 8 months and it completly messed my cycles up. I have very irregular AF visits but taking that gave me a 189 day cycle so I have come off it on my own accord as I don't see it doing a thing for me.
