Hi Ladies,

Looking for as much information on this procedure as possible.

I'm due to have this done on Wednesday 23rd July after not being able to have a HSG test due to my cervix facing the left!?

I have a pre-op assessment on Monday 7th July.

Thanks :)

Hi Galaxy Girl!

I just had mine done 2 weeks ago and honestly it was fine. As well as a lap I had a hysteroscopy and a hydro tubation (to flush the tubes because my HSG didn't work properly as she couldn't get the catheter in fully as I have a very retroverted uterus). Anyway it was totally fine and nothing to worry about....it was my first general anesthetic so I was a bit nervous but it was fine in the end. You'll be sore after for a few days - I found sleeping hard as I am a tummy sleeper and obviously it's sore and so I had to sleep on my back which sucked. Turning was uncomfortable but it didn't last long - just a couple of days. Just give yourself time to recover from things and take painkillers and ibuprofen to help with things.... Unfortunately I seem to have got the flu immediately after as I was really sick for a week afterwards but I think that was just bad luck for me! You will need someone to drive you home from the hospital and stay with you overnight but after that you should be ok.....I wasn't allowed to drive for 48 hrs after so that's something to consider as well..... Other than that though you will be totally fine. Is it a diagnostic lap to check for possible infertility issues or do they already think/know you have endo?

That's all I can think of for now but honestly it will be totally fine and then at least you will get some answers after! :D

Thank you for your reply :hugs:

They're just doing all routine checks for infertility. I had the bloods done and the HSG was the next step but unfortunately they couldn't do it because of my cervix so they've now sent me for a Lap and Dye.

I think I am more worried about the GA more than anything else as I didn't come round very well when I last had it which is silly because I was a child then.

Glad yours went well, having the flu must be awful after going through that.

Looking forward to pre-op assessment tomorrow x
