Last week I had an HSG test that showed both my tubes blocked so after crying the whole weekend and trying to stay calm till I recieve a call for the next step, they called!!! The FS office called today to schedule me for a laparscopy & hyteroscopy surgery and I'm excited and scared at the same time. I'm excited how fast they scheduled this surgery but I'm scared of what it consist of or them going in & not being able to fix. But I'm going to stay positive and hopefully everything goes well & we are able to concieve no problem!!!

Has anyone had this done? Is it the same as a lap & die test? Did it work?!?!?! Were u out of work for a while? OM it's in less than 2 weeks away!!!

I assume its the same as a lap and dye test. Have you had one before? I say this because i had a routine scan for irregular periods. This showed both my tubes to be blocked. At this point i had never tried to conceive but had suffered one miscarrige. My oh and me where in different places babywise. I was ready but he wasnt. Anyway i was sent straight for a lap and dye as they already new i had tube problems. The lap and dye its self wasnt to bad. I was told it would be a day surgery but for some reason i had to stay in night before as i was nil, by mouth and because of delays i didnt go down till 4pm so ended up having to stay in a 2nd night. It took less than an hour once i was under. They go through your belly button and inject dye in to your tubes and watch with a small camera. They also look for pcos and any other possible problems. I have heard that some problems they try and fix but dont qoute me on that. I then came round, I was sore for about 1 week. The worst pain was in my sholder due to the fact they inflate your tummy with air. I have a tiny little scar in my belly button and i had mine 2 years ago. The next day i got my results. This was a sad time. I was told i had pcos and that both my tubes where blocked at the top and bottom. I was told that i had no chance of conceiving and my only hope was ivf. This was december 09. I went on the list and was to have my 1st appointment december 10. My periods where irregular. We decided that we no longer needed to use protection. Then june 10 i was really tired and sick. Even though i new there was no chance i felt like i did that time before. I will always remember the day. It was a monday and was sunny. I brought a test in asda on the way to the bus to work.I did it in the loo and thought i will check when on the bus. But ended up checking before then. I almost fainted. I had an early scan to rule out ectopic. Then 9 months later ish after many scans and a few scares kacey elizabeth came into the world. My miracle baby. I had no assitance what so ever with conceiving

Anyway i rambled a bit but you have a good chance hun. Keep being positive. Good luck. Hope its ok that i have answered

OMG!!!! I have tears in my eyes!!! Thank you so much!!!! Seriously you do not know the joy and hope you have brought to my day!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!! Congratulation on your beautiful baby girl!!! And thank you for keeping up with this forum and keeping us with some hope!!! Thank you!!

I was looking it up and I think it says that if they do find something they can try to get them open, I believe in God and believe that It may be His will. I have the top of my right tube blocked and starting from the uterus from my left tube. When they started the right side was a little tight right next to the uterus but then opened up. I think this will be it, I think that it will happen!!! So fingers crossed

Hey there,
I really hope all goes well for you - am sure it will, I was really scared -am really soft when comes to hospitals etc. Anyway I posted a thread which you saw but just to let you know I feel fine now and am heading back to work tomorrow, have an appointment with the nurse to check the stitches but that's all.
I'm glad that they are moving things quickly as i find the waiting the hardest -hope all goes well hun, here's to our :bfp::hugs:

Hiya, I had both procedures done in June 10.

Mine were under general anasthetic (sp?). Laparoscopy is where they make 2-3 small incisions in your belly and put tubes with cameras inside you. They can also put a laser in to cut off any endo or anything else that doesn't belong there :haha:

Hysteroscopy is where they put a tube up your vagina and basically flush your tubes - very often this helps unblock them and you become more fertile after the procedure. That is IF you do ovulate which in my case wasn't the case because of PCOS.

I had absolutely no reaction to the anasthetic - woke up normal and was walking about within half an hour. But my shoulders hurt for about a week. It was just a really heavy feeling in my chest and shoulders - not very comfy at all! My stomach did hurt too - but just on Day 1 and nothing strong painkillers couldn't deal with!

Best of luck and don't worry - it's a great procedure!!

Thanks ladies!!!

Mrs LB - Wish you the best to a fast recovery and that BFP!!!!!! Excited to hear that things are going well.

Maria - Thanks for the information on the 2 I think that you've given me the best discription!!! I've look them up and have been a bit confused and I know that the doc office said the would send me some information but you can imagine that I'm a little impatiant :) Fingers crossed and keep me posted!!!!

I got my official apointment for the test on October 22, 2010 at 4pm!!! I'm feeling good about it!!! I think this is going to be it!!!! After this I know we are going to get our BFP!!!!!!
