I'm adopted and I don't want to give my baby the fathers last name, but I don't know if I should give my baby my birth last name or my adopted one or if my birth one is even allowed to be given to him. What should I do or how do I find this out???

Im pretty sure he can have whatever last name you like. People even blend their surnames, say Smith and Jones, and the baby becomes Smith-jones or even Smones or Jith. haha. So if your birth surname is what you want, id say go ahead. xxx

If I were you I would chose the name that meant the most to you. I have a friend who was adopted by her aunt and uncle at 13 and she took the last name like she had it her whole life. Her cousins were now her sister and brother, and she called her aunt and uncle mom and dad. It was such a natural switch for her because she had pretty much lived with them anyway her whole life.

So if your adopted last name means more to you than your birth last name that's the one I'd go with!

You can give what you like, I'd give him the name you go by :) (if that isn't your adopted name, I'd give him that) :)

I'd go with the one you go by :)
