Anyone going/gone through this? Any tips?

Since I am not overdue and don't want any augmentation my midwife suggested I rest and drink plenty of water but I am going crazy!!

I feel like labor is never going to get going

It was awful having painful contractions last night just to wake up and notice they were gone.

I had exactly the same last week. Contractions started on Fri last week, stopped Sat morning, started again sat afternoon, stopped sat eve and then sun i had a few random ones. I am actually due today and i've not had a peep!!! MW is right though, you just have to rest and ride it out. A long latent phase is supposed to make for an easier pushing phase so i'm told.....yeah we'll see!

I think I had my first bout of contractions last night, I was so uncomfy in bed and my tummy tightened and it hurt (not like previously when it was just uncomfy)

Woke up and everythings gone...no pains, no tightening.

I want this baby to come soon, I am desperate to meet her :-)

I share your pain. I've been having cramps for weeks but started getting actual irregular contractions this past week. Last I had them was yesterday morning but I took Tylenol for them cause I went to a funeral and didn't want to hurt through it. Literally felt like I was on my period.

Had an increase in discharge for a couple days only for it to stop. No mucus plug, no show..only loose bowels that has been happening for weeks.

Well glad to know I am not alone. This is just brutal. I have always heard about long labors but it was usually 24 hours not weeks. I am on day 3 of one minuet long seven minuet apart contractions. They seem to stop when I sleep so I am getting rest.

I am have the extra discharge but like the PP said no bloody show no plug. I was almost fully effaced before this started so curious how much I have dilated now. But also I hope this does mean an easier phase two and three!!

Sorry no tips just sympathy! I had this for five weeks on and off until I was induced at 42wks with my son. But I'm a bit unusual I guess! Hoping for a more straightforward run this time!!!
Rest as much as you can, try walking and DTD and stay positive. Baby won't be in there forever!! :D

I am having the same thing. I can go for hours having contractions that are 5-7 min apart lasting 1min-1 1/2 min accompanied with vaginal pressure and back ache but then they disappear!! I am so tired and worn out from all of this. I just want baby to be here already :(. I also haven't seen my plug or had a bloody show and I am 2cm dilated!!

You're definitely not alone! It's pretty nasty though, huh? I get them for 5-6 hours a day nearly every day (2-2.5 minutes apart and 45 seconds long), and there's nothing I can do that seems to make them stop. Hopefully baby will be here for all of us soon!

It is dilating you though, gradually. Usually a birth is pretty quick once it gets going after a latent labour.

I haven't been dilated one check but my last check was the day this started so I hope so. That day I still had a cm left to efface too.

I hope its a quick birth this is all wearing me out and I have cut back and am taking it insanely easy to not wear myself out.

Is anyone tired? Like can't keep your eyes open tired? I am going to bed early getting up late and napping but today I feel like I haven't slept at all!

I was in latent labour for 3 days with my first but the contractions were so painful and close together I couldnt sleep at all, each contraction was 8 - 10 mins apart. Eventually they induced me to start active labour and broke my waters to move things along and gave me pethidine so I could get some sleep before pushing because I was exhausted (I was aiming for drug free). I pushed her out in 20 minutes though which was fast considering I was knackered. My motivation was sleep rather than baby by then, it was getting on to 4 days with 30 minutes of sleep by then.

Yikes darkstar.... I am also trying for a drug free birth so I am doing my best to sleep.
