Hi, this coming Thursday I will be leaving my 9mo for just over 8 hours while I do a KIT day at work. My husband is looking after her.

I just don't know how it will work. She is a booby monster, still feeds 2-3hourly day and night despite taking three meals and a snack (solids) a day. She will drink water from a straw cup. We've been trying to introduce a bottle but even if oh gives it while I'm nowhere around she'll have 3oz max and the cry for me.

I haven't been able to express, I just don't get any even when I get a chance to try it. She has a cows milk allergy and so we have a specialist formula for her to drink. She has hemp milk on cereal which she seems to like. Would it be terrible to give her a cup of hemp milk while I'm away as well as trying the formula? It may be the taste of the formula that's putting her off (it's rank).

Anyone else been here before? How did it go? Part of me thinks she can eat and drink other things, so while she may not like it, she will survive it! Not sure oh will if he has a miserable baby and a toddler all day (he's never been on his own with both for more than an hour)

Someone tell me I am panicking over nothing and it will be fine?

Well you never know until you try.

Since she's eating solids, that's a great start. But like you said it might end up being a miserable day for LO and DH! Back-up formula is always good and he can try to give her cereal or fruit or whatever she eats.

GL I'm sure everything will be fine and no permanent harm done

Thank you for your supportive comment. She was absolutely fine! I really do need to remember just how adaptable and clever babies are. She just accepted what was on offer cos there was nothing else available.
Then I got the biggest smiles and snuggles when I got home:cloud9:

Thanks for following up with the outcome! I still haven't left my daughter for more than four hours because I'm convinced it will be terrible for her but your post gives me hope.
