I called NHS Direct Monday morning as I had woken up with stomach pains and bleeding. They advised me to ring my GP, so I did and was told to go in straight away. The GP I saw discussed the possibilities of an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage and sent me to Gynae via A&E. I had blood taken and was given an internal and told to go for an ultrasound the following morning.
Upon receiving my ultrasound I was told that she couldn't see a baby and that I was either earlier on in the pregnancy than I had thought, or one of the afore mentioned possibilities had occurred. I was then told to return for another blood test on Friday.
At work yesterday I received a voicemail message saying that I didn't need to go for the blood test, I just need to go for another scan next Friday. I had period-type pains all day yesterday and by 5pm the pain had spread to my back and down my leg (all in my right side). Mum rang the qward and all they said was to go in if I couldn't cope! I'm pretty good at coping with pain and don't want to put myself/my baby in danger.
I just want to know what's going on :(

If it is getting worse hun I would go in!
I really hope it is a good outcome for you! :hugs:

Hi Hun,

I'd go in too, they might be able to scan you a day early or do the bloods again anyway. If you are in pain it's always worth going in xx

I managed to sleep last night and I haven't had any pain today. I'll be sure to go in next time though.
Got 4 days off work now so hopefully I'll be able to get some rest :)

If it gets worse at all then go in., Never ever feel silly. How many weeks do you think you are? Ectopic can be very serious if left untreated.

it is quite common for you not to be as far along as you thought. Period cramps, even really bad ones are also quie normal in the first trimester.

Try not to worry until you get the results of your scan.

How pregnant do you think you are?

I went back in Monday night having been bleeding and passing a brown discharge since Sunday and finding clots in the toilet. They kept me in and said to return for a scan next Tuesday! I reminded them that I already had one booked for this Friday and luckily I get to keep that one instead.
The Clearblue test I did 2 weeks ago said 3+ but other than that I have no idea. Last period started 2nd December.
I've been dizzy and nauseas since the first bleed and haven't been able to work. My partner and I are prepared for the worst but I'm still holding out some hope. Although I'll be devastated if it's bad news, it will be a relief to know either way because I'm just feeling numb at the moment.

Clots aren't a good sign - I hope you are ok. Good luck tomorrow

Thinking of you x

I had an early bleed (pink discharge - but that is how my waters started to go last pregnancy at 20 weeks when I lost my son due to that so I freaked) when I went it was too early to see much - although they saw a sac but couldn't find heartbeat or other stuff they were looking for... but when I went back for the follow up scan it was all o.k. I am not trying to give you false hope (i didn't have clots or brown discharge) but just saying early scans are not that clear cut sometimes.

Hi Hun,

Hope it goes well, i also don't want to give you false hope (but i do hope it's all ok) but clots and brown generally mean old blood which isn't always bad - especially if you have recently had a red/pink bleed. Tissue is different but you haven't mentioned that and it looks different to clots.

I hope your dates are wrong and everything turns out ok x

Thank you for helping me stay positive. If I don't get answers today I don't know what I'll do!

It's all good news :D 6 weeks 4 days.
They could see an area of bleeding so I just have to be careful and rest. Not so easy working with 3-5 year olds and having a 2 year old boy at home!

I'm really pleased for you!

I know how difficult it is, i have a subchorionic hematoma that only showed up later in the pregnancy which brings it's own issues (although i too had spotting at 8 weeks) and i have a 17month at home.

Try not to strain with lifting etc and hopefully it will reabsorb soon. At least bubs is doing ok and you have an explanation for the bleeding. Maybe you can get some additional scans to keep an eye on it?

Hope everything goes well for you x

Oh no! It's a bit of a nightmare isn't it.
I've got another one booked for the 11th but she said if I ever feel worried I can go back in and get one earlier.

congratulations! Here's to a happy and healthy pregnancy!
