Legal Guardian entitlement.

My Nan has has been my cousins legal guardian for 12 years and 7 months. He is 13 years old now. She only gets Child Benefit, but heard in the hairdressers ( ) off a lady in the same situation that she was entitled to something (money wise) but she forgot the name of the 'benefit'.

My Nan is unemployed, but receives incapacity benefit & of course her Grandsons child benefit?

Can anyone think of what it could be she is entitled to? I have tried googling to no avail!

I no if i child is say re-homed though SS they get extra money from SS, my nan is the legal guardian for my brother, he lives with her and she gets something like an extra £500 a month

Not that i see why a child in SS needs an extra £500 a month compared to children living with there parents.

I think it's probably child tax credit.. carers allowance is for looking after disabled people.

Best get her to speak to the CAB
