Life Insurance

Hiya ladies,

I have been thinking of getting some sort of life insurance for myself, cos dont want hollie going through anything like that, but i have no clue where to start, what i should look for in the insurance, and is there anything different cos i am a single parent? I have posted this in the work & fin part, but also wanted to know if any of you ladies have got it, or will be getting it?!

Also does anyone have home insurance? Cos my mum said i should get that as well, but dunno if i can cos im council? xxx

i don't have life insurance but i have home insurance with the aa! its £17 a month you can get it cheaper if you put an excess on your policy xxx

Whats excess lol, sorry im totally lost, been doing the compare the markets and its all so confusing!!!xxx

Excess is what you pay towards it, so say if your excess is £100 and you spilled paint on your carpet and needed a new one, you would have to pay the first £100 of whatever the new carpet costs.... i think lol

I would definately get home insurance chick, It will cover you if there are any accidents or thefts on your flat! esp big things like a fire etc.

life insurance, i havnt got any yet, but i will when i can afford to have another DD set up out my acc. probably when i get a job. but worth having, cant help about it tho cos im not sure myself! x

Yeah i've sorted it im doing it all through my bank, its alot easier that way, so i've now got life insurance and home contents insurance xxx

I have life insurance, i pay £13 a month and Bella would get £500,000 if i died! I think it's an important thing to have I went on gocompare.com ans i'm with helpucover (or something like that) and having a Will is important if you get insurance as you can say how you want it to be spent and who will get money from the insurance etc (like i've given it mostly to Bella, but if i die before she is 18, i've requested my sister to decide how the money is to be spent on her) and have also requested part of the money be used for a university education, things like that, so people know what you would have wanted
