Finally got round to doing this, with a few pokes to get me moving  lol

Was due Thursday 17th January.

Friday 18th Jan:

Went for my MW checkup (40+1) and all was fine BP etc. Then the MW came to feel bump and after feeling like she was sticking her hands inside me lol started pulling those face that you know something isn't quite right. She said that baby wasnt lying head down and engaged like she should be she was oblique so MW rang labour and delivery who said they wanted me to go in straight away as from what she had described I may need a C-Section that night  So needless to say I wasnt a happy bunny and scared shitless as I thought I was ready and prepared but being a pleb I hadnt really looked a C-Sections in much detail. Luckily my mum was home and had come with me to my appointment so we walked home and she helped me double check my hospital bag and drive me in. OH works on a farm and in the 5mins I spent at home before heading to hospital I rang him 15times  never answered as he'd left his phone in his tractor :dohh:
Anywho got to the hospital MW came in and examined me again and said yes baby was oblique but I was going to be scanned to be 100% Dr came in and did that and she was. The options then were to perform manipulation which could end in emergency C-section or just go for section. I decided manipulation so I had a chance of a normal birth. They preped me for surgery all the canulas and a lovely shave  but then baby moved head down lol. They decided to induce me whilst baby was in position but I was vvvv unfavourable lol so they stuck me on the ward for the night.

Saturday 19th January:
MWs came round for morning obs and when they checks bubs HB they couldnt find it but she was head down so I got frog marched up to labour and delivery and quickly scanned again. There she was happy as larry so she was scaring us for no reason lol. BUT in the 2mins from walking from ward to ward LO moved back to oblique :hissy: So again was prepped for a section and told to just wait and Id be told when I would be going to theatre. Neadless to say after hours of waiting the Dr came to see me and said oh no your being silly this baby will labour fine you dont need a section and even if you did I only operate Monday to Friday mornings only so youd have to wait  So very deflated I went back to the ward (got moved to a private room :happydance:) and got ignored for the rest of the day.

Sunday 20th January:
Got told I would have C-Section for definate in the morning :happydance: and then was ignored for the rest of the day and night :(

Monday 21st January:
Was all ready and raring to go OH had come in at 8am so he wouldnt miss my pre-op consulatancy (is that the right word lol) so we waited and waited then at 11am OH went and shouted at MW to find out what was going on and got told "Oh we had emergency sections hasnt anyone told you, Katies not having her section today anymore they only like to do two sections a day and they are doing a second one now. She will be re-assesed in the morning." :guns: :sad2:

Tuesday 22nd January:
Got scanned again at midday and LO was head down so they decided to induce me. Had a very rough internal :( and put on the monitors for a pre-prostin trace and then they came back and to put it on but said dont hold your breth as I can hardly feel your cervix. didnt do anything and had a second one 6hours later which got a few contractions starting walked round hospital untill 4am with OH but when I went to bed they disappeared :sad2:

Wednesday 23rd January:
After an uneventful night lol was put on the monitor again and Dr came to do an internal at 9am and said "Oh your bowels are all inflamed and distended that will be stopping your baby engaging just have an enema and your bowel should go back to normal and you can have a normal labour  WTF all this time and now he says this and said it like it was my fault! So he gave me the 3rd prostin and the MW deblt with the other nice task that had to be done  I wont go into details lol. By 4pm nothing had happened so OH asked what the next step of induction would be. They told him "She has had 3 doses so thats her limit you will have a day off, Thursday, and start the process all over again on Friday" Once I was told I burst in to tears after 7days of hanging around I was still no closer to my baby and they didnt seem to care so OH (can you tell he has a short fuse lol) couldnt bear to see me crying my heart out so stormed out and demanded the consultant came to see us ASAP no excuses. Two minutes later he was in my room  I think they were a bit frightened lol. He walked in the door didnt even examine me or put down his cup of coffee and said "We will operate in the morning baby doesnt seem to want make an apperance nil by mouth midnight onwards" Smiled and walked out. If it was such an easy decision why did it take so long. I didnt hold my breath but had fingers crossed for the rest of the day.

Thursday 24th January:
Was awake from 6am couldnt sleep. OH was in at 8:30am and mum came in at 9am and we sat and waited. Dr came in and said "There is an emergancy going into theatre at the minute" My heart sank and I could feel the tears coming I was devistated but then he said "So be ready for 11:30am I nearly fell off the bed in shock! I couldnt believe I was gonna finally have my baby! :happydance::happydance::happydance: So I got in my lovely gown and shaved AGAIN and sat waiting then the MW came in and said were off! I have never been so scared in all my life and relieved at the same time! Went into theatre and was shaking like a leaf the spinal didnt even hurt I think it was adrenalin helping lol. OH came in 5mins later looking sexy in his scrubs lol. At 12:14 little miss made he appearance. The cord was round her neck twice which explained to whole reason why she wouldnt engage and was told later if I had laboured I would have killed her  She was passed to OH and I burst into tears shes perfect and i was overwhelmed. OH said "your really calm seeing as they are cutting you open like that!" SUch caring words  He then asked the surgeon to check my bowels while he was there so we knew if there was a problem...bloody men luckily he said it was fine. I was then stiched up and moved back to the ward after recovery. She is beautiful weighed 7lb 3oz and has a lovely head of really fair hair just like daddy!

SOrry its so long will post pics in two seconds just make sure this works first :D

She is beautiful, Congratulations.

Its not nice waiting around in the hospital isit. I had the same experience. Olivia wasnt engaged at all. Had 5 prostin and eventually at 15 days over due they deceided to send me for a c-section also. Lke Lily, Olivia's cord was wrapped around her neck twice.
