Hi
So everything went so smoothly
I was gonna be kept in on Wed night but I convinced them to let me home as I only live 2mins away, but we did sign all consent forms and do all bloods and such on the we'd as prep for thur morn, they gave me 3 pills of zantac which are given to limit the risk of sickness during surgery, I had to take 2 the night before and 1 the morning of, we turned up at 7am on the thur after no sleep cause we were waaaayyy to excited and I got such a warm greeting from the midwives, I was given my gown and had a quickie scan to make sure baby is still breech, I was then given a liquid antacid to take and had a drip inserted into my hand,,, by 8:30 I was brought to theatre and was having a right laugh and joke with the anesthitologist (elective cesarean - was lighthearted) I will admit having the spinal hurt but only for a short while, it took effect immediately and I went numb from the ribs down, hubby was still outside at this point, once the had made the cut on me where baby was coming out they then brought hubby in and sat him at my head,,, They then entered a catheter into my bladder which has been a godsend and it has been draining me all day so that i have not needed to get up and use the loo, (such a buzzare feeling after peeing at least 5 times a night for weeks haha), I started to feel extremely nauseous at this point and was about to get sick when out of nowhere I heard my baby girl screeching I couldn't believe she was out so quick and the moment I heard that cry all nausea went away, she cried and cried and cried, the moment I heard that and laid eyes on her I just bawled my eyes out, after a quick glance at her they took her and my husband away to another room so he could cut the cord to size and do skin to skin with her for 40 mins while I was been stitched up and in recovery, I LOVED that he got to do skin to skin as I'm breast feeding and thought it was a great way for him to bond, once I returned to the ward the brought hubby and baby back to me and they put here straight onto my boob which thankfully she took to, I also had my chance for skin to skin... I was given a shot of morphine to help with the pain of the cut and I had no feeling for about 4 hours but it wasn't bad,,, I have not been off the bed for almost a day now but will be allowed walk around tomorrow,,, overall I found the whole experience quiet good and I know and appreciate I am one of few people who have such an easy time, midwives think I'm great haha as when they came to clean me and change pads etc me and hubby already done it,,, Baby girl Lily Rose Edna Steele was born at 9:08am on the 4th July weighing a healthy 7 1/2 lbs (3.38kg) and is just perfect,,, I really hope you enjoy reading my positive birth experience and I will gladly answer any questions,,,
Thank you all once again for all the massive and wonderful support you have given me over the last 9 months, I honestly could not have done this without you all! I will deffo be snooping around to see when you girlies have your babies too,
Lots of Love
