I have just bought myself Lilypadz
For those who don't know what Lilypadz are:
https://www.lilypadzonline.co.uk/LilyPadz-p-1.html
they stick to your boob and apply gentle pressure rather than absorbing leaks which means you have more freedom to wear different tops/dresses, go swimming etc, plus they are reusable, and just need a quick wash in soapy water and air dried for a few mins then can be used again
am super excited about them, will let you all know how they are and how easy etc they are to use, £15RRP
~ The Review ~
Look and Feel
They feel very comfortable to wear and you don't notice them underneath t-shirts etc, you certainly wouldn't see them under a white t-shirt, if someone was to feel your boob they would know that there was something on them though.
They come in a little case which i found comes in handy for storing them when nursing so that small children don't try to eat/play/wear them
Using Them
The instructions are fairly easy to follow, the diagrams are quite comical, but generally you get the idea.
The leaflet tells you that the amount of pressure they exert is directly related to the amount you depress the nipple when putting them on, making sure that there are no airspaces is key to the way they work, I found that if i applied them as such there was no collection of milk and no leaking, however if i just put them on quickly for example after a feed where i don't exactly want to get my boob right out and put them on the way the leaflet advises then the milk would collect in them slightly.
Using them a night resulted in major leaks-i think the reason why was because i decided not to wear a bra and just wear the pads and a t-shirt and my boob must have been squished a bit causing the pads to come off a little, i'm not entirely sure how to resolve this and may still have to use disposable pads at night.
Value for money?
At first glance yes, but when i got the pack through, hmmmm maybe not. On the site the impression i got was that they are a "once you buy it thats it" product but it would appear that they only last months rather than for as long as you breastfeed. Still if you look at the cost of a decent pack of disposable breast pads (£4 for 40) versus having to pay £15 every few months is a slightly better deal, am not sure about everyone else but i found that i could go through 40 pads a week.
Questions Here
Will invite everyone to ask any questions i might not have covered here
I really hope this review is useful.
