Has anyone else experienced this?? There are no signs of any sort of skin irritation at all, but last night and again tonight he started screaming hysterically and became rather inconsolable!

When it happened tonight i put him back in his bath (was still pretty warm) to wash it off in case it was the cream.

Now he has been extra restless and temperamental lately because even though he is 5 months old pretty much his adjusted age is the famous 3 months, so not sure if its related to that or if the lotion is really hurting him!!

Anyone have any advice or suggestions?? I bought 2 bottles for the price of one! So im spewing if its the lotion upsetting him. IM thinking ill buy something new and natural tomorrow.

If it was the cream wouldn't it show actual irritation on the skin?? Could it be him playing up right at that time due to his 3 monthly growth spurt or whatever it is they go through around this time. He has been a very restless easily upset and easily over tired grumpy baby as of late even before i started using the cream.

could it be that the cream feels cold and he gets a shock?

Hmm... possibly... but he never did this with the burt's bee's cream i have been using, just started when i have used this one... but not sure if it's a coincidence either. Its really strange.

I've not used johnsons products on LO. Some of them are really chemically. If he's screaming, then something isn't right. It's not worth upsetting him over something you can change so easily!

Yeah ill just get the Burts Bee's one again since i know that is fine for his skin as its all natural.

Johnsons lotion stings me when i put it on, but theres never any redness or outside signs of irritation x

Is the lotion cold when you put it on? My house is air-conditioned and I find I have to warm up the lotion in my hands before rubbing it on LO. Otherwise, it feels chilly on her skin, especially after a warm bath.

A friend of mine is currently taking a baby massage class where they learned that babies just sometimes "aren't in the mood" for a massage. I found that weird, because I could always go for a back rub! That said, if it was only a two time thing, perhaps LO was just fussy and didn't feel it those days?

Yes it can sting on sensative skin. I would stick with the burt bees

Try putting it on to a bit of cotton wool and rubbing that on LO, might feel a bit smoother for him! I do that for cleaning LOs neck and put it on cotton buds for cleaning his wee folds and behind his ears every day! I use baby oil for massage!

I used Johnson's baby lotion to take my make up off once and it really burned my skin. I don't remember if my skin showed any obvious irritation afterwards but for this reason i wouldn't have considered using it on my baby. x

Stings here too and leaves DD1 in some awful rashes

Yikes! I've used baby lotion twice on Aria and she was already fussing and throwing a fit from being given a bath so I assumed it was from that! I'm going to have to try some of it on myself before I use it again (if I ever do!)

My LO doesn't like it either.. I can only assume that he doesn't like the cold, slimy feel (especially after leaving a warm bath into a cold bathroom) as his skin doesn't seem irritated at all or anything.

I think Johnson's products are evil! I used a Johnsons baby wipe to take off my make up once and it stung like hell and I tried some baby lotion on my arms and it really stung too. My first daughter can't use it as it brings her out in a red rash x
