Could LOIS be a boys name (pronounced Low-iss)?

I think it's a girl as well. Luis (Loo-ee) would be the boy version I guess? Or Lewis (loo-iss)?

I would probably think girl, if I saw this name. So many names are becoming unisex, though. It's nice to see one going the other way for a change (girl>boy instead of boy>girl).

I would assume it was a girl if I saw it written down, say on a job application form or whatever.

I like Louis or Lewis and even Linus is similar and a little different, but for me Lois is definately a girls name.

I rather it for a girl , its like the wife on family guy, and when i was workin in the nursery last year a little girl was called lois.

I'm definitely with all those posters who've said girls name ... just like Lois Lane from Superman. I personally have not heard of a boy called Lois - it sounds so girly.

How about Luis (Spanish), Lewis, Louis or Louie? I know several people named Lois...all over the age of 50 and all women.

Sorry I have to agree with the others - Lois is a lovely name but I would definately think of it as a girls name - Luis/Louis/Louie/Lewis are definately boys names though.
