Im heading to London next month for my 30th...any suggestions on what to do??

Go to the theatre? :)

Shopping....Oxford Street.

Boat trip along the thames/tour bus?

Have fun!! :D

Duck tour if during the day, plus trip on the wheel.

Have you ever been before? If not do a tour to see the main sights. Do you like museums or theatre? Good to wander about in the centre, with the bonus of all the main shops being there. Southbank worth a visit as well and you can easily get up to Tate Modern.

Try a market like Spitalfields, Brick Lane or Colombia Road. All on a Sunday and all within walking distance to each other. Lots of fantastic architecture around there as well.

we went for our honeymoon, the best/most fun things we did were:

london dungeon (brilliant!)
camden market
the eye
oxford street
and if you're into food (which we ARE), you simply MUST go to the Farmers Borough Market!

Dont forget to check out the Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park, also Ice Skating at Somerset House. x

missy123 - what kinds of things are you into? That way people can help you plan! and how many days are you staying? Here are a small number of London attractions:

My favourite things are:
-Tower of London
-Boat trip along the Thames, say Embankment to Greenwich, get out for a wander round and then boat trip back
-One of the big markets like Spitalfields, Borough or Stables Camden (all quite different to each other, have a google)
-Buck Palace (unfortunately closed for entry this time of year, you need a trip back in summer!)
-see a show (my faves: Lion King, Chicago, Les Mis). Fancy Billy Elliot but not seen it.

There are tons of museums depending on what you are into, here a just a few:
Imperial War Museum (free)
Natural History (free)
V and A (free)
Science (free)
British Museum (free)
Museum of London (free)
Cabinet War rooms (expensive, but good)
London Transport Museum (costs money, good for kids)
Museum of childhood (free)

There's the Eye, the Aquarium, various walking tours (Jack the Ripper tour is good in the evening in East London). Galleries, if you are into art here are a few of them:
-National Gallery (free)
-National Portrait Gallery (free)
-Tate Modern (free)
-Tate Britain (free)
-Saachi
-White cube

You could go for a posh afternoon tea somewhere. There's lots of outdoor skating rinks open at the minute, the most well known being Somerset House on the Thames.

A few other bits and bobs: St. Paul's Cathedral, Denis Severs House, Postman's Park, Westminster Abbey.
