Heya ladies,

well, it really has been a while  kinda feel a bit unfaithful as i haven't been here for a while. Took the decision back in Oct to give it all a break, but now methinks it's time to get back in the saddle as it were...

so, not much has changed - after IVF, DH and I have just been taking time out from the whole journey really. We've decided to go for FET in Sept/Oct cycle. At our last appointment (back in Oct.Nov time) our consultant said that we could do a natural cycle. Bit concerned that the frostie might not make the thaw, but i guess there's nothing we can do about that. Cos we're NHS funded we can only do one at a time, even though i'd give good money to thaw them both (we have two on ice) and try them both...

just wondering if any of you oldies are still around - i bloody hope not!!!! (if you know what i mean :) ), but would be good to hear from you if you are! And if you're looking at this having never met me before, then hello! I hope your time here is short lived!!! (in the nicest possible way :) )

If i can help you ladies, i'll do my best - here's a quick low down: just about to start my 6th year TTC. I'm annovulatory (Sp??!!), and DH has low sperm count on all counts. Have done clomid to no avail, and one fresh IVF cycle. Had lap and dye, all ok,no obvious probs, although one tube was spasmodic, but docs thought it was due to procedure as opposed to anything underlying. Had some good embryos that made it to blastocyst, but as i said earlier, got 2 on ice. The best was put back in last Oct but it was not meant to be.

So, that's me. If i'm honest, i can't think of a better support group to be part of - if you;ll have me back....

 and :dust:

HI MrsF,

Wanted to say hi!

i've been on here for the past few weeks and have found everyone to be so supportive and lovely....

sorry to hear you a back - if u know what i mean...:flower:

DH and i have been TTC for 1 year due to DH SA... Has count of 15mill and motility of 30%....i'm fine - just completed my 1st ever round of clomid and am currently 4dpo.

i've been the biggest nutjob on this clomid...i have been crying for the past couple of days- for no apparant reason, pimples all over my face - like i'm going thru puberty again - major mountains, migranes and pains in my abdomen.....

i'm wondering if you know if this is yet again another clomid side effect?

WE are also looking into IVF if the clomid doesnt' help....

Welcome back! i hope u dont hang around too long and get that long awaited BFP....sorry it's been a long journey for you...:hugs:

pink  x x x

forgive me for lol-ing, but nutjob is such an eloquent way of putting it - i think i used the term "clusterfuck" when i tried to explain to my dad... x x x

i remember being on clomid feeling like a hormonal teenager again - but without the sex drive (if you follow me!!!) to me, it sounds like how you are feelin is totally normal babe x x x x

i hope to goodness this is your time hun x x x x x please keep me updated

just re-read that and it sounds like when i said "Lol-ing" i was being insensitive x x x x i'm so very sorry hun, i didnt mean it to come across that way x x x x i do empathise where you are coming from sweetpea, it's a horrible place to be x x x clomid certainly does mess with your natural cycle, but i hope it works for you hun x x x

:rofl:Clusterfuck:rofl: that's hillarious!

don't be silly - not insensitive at all....we need to have a bit of a laugh from time to time...

Well now that i know that clomid is capable of bringing out the inner B###ch from me i can relax....pity Dh doesnt see it that way.....lucky he hasn't divorced me this month - he must love me then - hehehe....

i'm hoping this damn clomid works too....MY FS told me my eostrogen levels were at 2000 after taking the clomid and said i should have ovulated 2 eggies...lets hope the :spermy:gets it shit together and does its job....

What are you ttc plans? (if u don't mind me asking) will you being doing any fertility treatments or have u startd something already?:hugs:

heya mate - listen - if your DH wants to talk about mood swings and inner B###ches, he's most welcome to speak to mine - i guarantee you'll look like an  in comparison to me :grr: ;)

.....

our plans are to have one blasto thawed (we have two on ice following ICSI last year) and put back in in my Sept / Oct cycle. Chances are low for the blasto surviving the thaw (so we've been told) and a relatively low chance of it sticking, but it's a better chance than we have right now.

am having acupuncture in the lead up to this transfer so that's good - and if this one doesn't work, we have the final blasto to thaw. If that's a no go then we save up like mad to fund one more fresh cycle, then that's me done. hopefully it wont come to that though - am semi-optimistic!

Hi Mrs F,

Welcome back :hugs:

I've started popping over here this week having reached the year mark. We're just in the process of starting tests :) Hubby is on his way to the hospital with his Sperm sample as I type this!

Wishing you all the luck in the world for Sept/Oct :flower:

Hi ladies. Wishing you all well on your journeys and Mrs F; wishing you as much luck as it's humanly possible to wish someone. I hope the thaw works and you get your BFP (with twins, if that's what you'd like)! Lot's of dust, Hope. X

You crack me up:rofl:....just praying we get some good news soon...

i'm not very framiliar with Blastos's and on ice? not sure how or what that is - sorry....we are looking into ISCI if this darn clomid doesnt work....

:hugs:

i hope you get some good news soon too pink - i'm rootin for those :spermy: c'mon guys!!!!!

A blasto (blastocyst) is the next stage on from an embryo hun - tbh, i'm not entirely sure of the science bit, but i remember it being explained to me in terms of the embryo becoming a ball of cells - it's further advanced than an embryo.

Depending on the number of eggs collected after the IVF stimulation, and the development of embryos after they've been fertilised, will depend upon whether the clinic opts for a day 2-3 embryo transfer, or a day 5 blastocyst transfer.

We had 12 eggs collected, 11 fertilised that day. Then as the days rolled by, there were 6 embryos that took the lead. The clinic felt that with such a high number, we were suitable candidates to hold on a few more days to see which one was the front runner (as it were) and then transfer that one back.

So, i had a grade one blasto transferred back on day 5 (past fertilisation) as it was felt this was the best one (i was told that the day 5 blasto transfer mimics the natural cycle in so far as that'd be the time the blasto would hit the womb). After the transfer, i had a few blastos left over in the lab, so they waited one more day, by which time 1 had perished. On day 6 i had two strong blastos in the lab, and they decided to freeze them (so they are now "on ice")

due to us being NHS funded for one fresh cycle and any frozen it produces, we can have one blasto thawed at a time and put back in free of charge. The risk now lies with whether or not the blasto can survive the great thaw. Plenty do, but the success rates are quite low. Then there are the lower risks of it sticking than a fresh blasto / embryo.

but, as i said before, we're semi-optimistic! i know the risks, but there's some hope there :)

apologies if i've patronised, but i have to put it in laymen's terms for my own understandin!!!!

 and if i can help any more hun, please don't hesitate to ask - if my journey gives nothing else, it can help others :) x x x x x

Very interesting MrsF and I wish you loads of luck. Do keep us posted. X

hey MrsF,

thanks for that - i have a much better understanding...i knew the basics but not all the terminology...:

i'll be heading down the IVF road if this clomid doesnt work out...it sure works for giving great side effects tho!

Don't be talking negatively...please...we have got to get our BFP's - dont we?! i sure hope so....

sure hope it works for you hun - fx'd...

i've got 6 days to go - not too keen on testing, putting it off as much as i can...dont want another disapointment - im sick of the bfn's...

i've got no symptoms of anything at the moment...had 1 stabbing pain last nite and nothing.....dont feel like it's worked at all...but i dont know whats suppose to happen if it does work either!:dohh:

talk soon babe xoxo:hugs:
