Heres some pics of logan modelling his very own homemade nappy Im quite proud of myself!! Especially as i havent used a sewing machine in about 10 years!! And this was my 1st go

but don't cut it up, cotton outers tend to wick lol, keep it as your floor mat!

Even with a waterproof layer in middle? Coz the one he is in now is cotton with a layer of some waterproof stuff (cant remember what it was called)and then fleece inner with and insert obviously!!

yeah even cotton outer with hidden PUL tend to wick a little, not badly but enough if they have clothes on and a little pressure Anoys me as there is some mega cute cotton fabric out there! your better sticking with polyester outers

oh and another tip, make sure you use polyester thread rather than cotton thread ..... cotton thread tends to wick too lol

Shoot ive bought loads of cotton thread today!! Typical but its all a learning curve!!

Ooooooo anyone got any tips on sewing elastic in for the legs coz that was a bugger and it isnt quite bunched enough if that makes sense?

wicking is when urine leaks/is pulled through the material

polyester tends to repel liquids where as cotton soaks them up, so put cotton on the outer and it will absorb liquid (making the outer of the nappy damp) regardless of the polyester/waterproof inner, it's just the nature of the fabric

i dunno if i explained that very well lol

did you sew all the way down it/through it (from one end to the other) or did you just secure each end?
