With my 2nd baby, I ended up with a vertical C-section. I'm in Canada and I will NOT be allowed to try for a VBAC, due to the type of section I had. So my question is(not sure if this is the appropriate thread), is there a way that I can be cared for during prenatal and postnatal by a midwife or as natural as possible. Thank you

I'm not quite certain, but I would say if it was vertical you'll need to be seen by a high risk doctor. You can ask him/her to go a natural route if possible. :)

Look online for I think it's called gentle csection. I'm not sure how many drs do this in Ontario. I know I'd like a most natural one as I went from a planned home birth to csection due to a surgery. Imnot currently expecting but those were my plans

Can someone explain to me what is meant by a "natural C-section"? I'm not familiar with this, and I'm curious as to what this is...

Thanks!

Thanks for responding ladies!! I won't need to see a high risk doctor (as far as I know)...I had the c-section with my daughter because she was breech, I had a very healthy active pregnancy with my daughter. hmmmm so many things to think about. lol

Jen where in Canada are you? Are u sure ucant find a dr who would allow a vacation? Have u just had one section?

I had a vertical C-section. Doesn't matter where you live in Canada or the U.S its not allowed:( Even midwives won't allow me to attempt a VBAC.
A vertical incision was made on my uterus, and therefore is double the risk (of a normal C-section) of uterine rupture. It's an insurance thing for dr's and midwives. So no way I will have my VBAC. With my first child I had a vaginal birth
