Hi Ladies, a little about me for those who dont know - TTC 2 1/2 years, unexplained infertility, ovulate on my own, currently on round 3 of 100mg clomid. Feeling pretty gutted as we totally missed this month because i wasnt very well, now i'm approx 2-3 dpo (first month of not monitoring) and i woke up with severe abdomen pains last night, they have gone now but i feel all bruised and tender round my abdomen and back  Now i'm worried incase its OHSS, would just be my luck.
I really dont feel like we'll ever get pregnant, some happy clomid stories needed please.

I am waiting for AF so tag at I can begin my first rund of Clomid. My doctor told me that many women take 4-6 months with Clomid for it to work. Hang in there. Prayers and baby dust headed your way!

I just had my first round of Clomid 50 mg- and am waiting for my super irregular AF to show up so that I can (hopefully) get an increase in dosage & try again. Having blood work done Monday.
I wish I could offer more hope. But I can commiserate with you :)

Thanks ladies,

I hope you both have more luck than me. Baby dust to you both :hugs:

I can't yet give you a success story, but I am on round four of clomid and in my TWW. Each BFN has hot me hard, and I can relate to your feeling of "is this ever going to work?" Last cycle I thought, surely if it was going to work, it would have by now....but, realistically, if it makes you ov, it HAS worked, thatis all clomid is for, to give a normal, regular cycle with a strong ovulation. That puts us on a par with any other fertile couple, ie 20% chance of a BFP with each cycle. It is really frustrating, but all we can do is hang in there, and hope that one of these months, it will be our turn. I have read plenty of stories of women getting pregnant on cycle 4,5,6 or even more. It can and does happen x

Hi, I had to log in and post because my friend had exactly the same thing happen to her when she got her BFP after months on Clomid. She thought exactly the same as you, that it must be OHSS, but it wasn't, it must have been early implantation pains. As for me I'm on my third month of Clomid too and have also decided not to monitor OV this month because all that was doing was adding to the stress. I feel so much better for it. Good luck

I felt so disheartened on clomid when round 3 didnt work as everything I read seemed to suggest that most people got a BFP within 3 months. Well as it turned out round 4 was my round, got a BFP and am now 5+3. Still very early days but so relieved as I too thought I'd never get a BFP.

Stick with it xxx

Thank you so much ladies, this is just what I needed to hear as af is due in two days. I'm very grateful for your comments :hugs:
Huge congrats browniebaby, there is hope after round 3 after all.
Buninmyoven thanks for sharing that story, do you feel less stressed not tracking ov?

If it's a comfort I've a friend who got baby1 on round 4 and is expecting baby2 from round 1.

I conceived on round 1 and had OHSS symptoms - it was really painful but in the end it resulted in a BFP, so hopefully this will be the same for you! I also googled it a lot and read that apparently if you have OHSS it more often than not means a pregnancy anyway (not sure how true this is though!)!

Sadly that pregnancy ended in m/c but this was unrelated to clomid so I'm now about to start cycle 2 next AF!

I also have a friend that took 4-5 rounds of clomid before catching so keep trying! :hugs:

Thanks tommyg, any success story is nice to hear :hugs:
Whigfield so so sorry about your loss, I can't imagine how it feels but thank you for sharing :flower:

Afm - like I said I didn't monitor ov this month so I'm about 15-17 dpo I'm guessing which makes me a couple days late. I had really bad period pains yesterday like the witch would rear her ugly head there and then but since last night I've had nothing, even my sore bbs have gone, bfn this morning  It's like af has already came and went, I don't know what to think. What if I ov'd earlier and we didn't miss it after all?

I have pcos which was diagnosed when I couldn't get pregnant. The fertility specialist prescribed me 6 months of clomid. Each month I was scanned, and it showed I was ovulating. After 5 months of taking it I pretty much gave up hope that it would work, coz everyone else that was using clomid on these forums seemed to get pregnant very soon after taking it. I was starting to get quite depressed about the whole thing. So I decided to do what I could to make life easier and more enjoyable for myself. I was really stressed at work so found another job. This felt like a weight being lifted from my shoulders. I also threw myself into hobbies that I really enjoyed all to take my mind off what wasn't happening really. Anyway, this all coincided with my 6th round of clomid which turned out to be the one that worked. I now have a 5 month old baby girl and I thank my lucky.stars for her every day. I'm not saying clomid works for everyone but please don't give up just yet. I don't know if it was just a coincidence but losing any other areas of stress in my life really seemed to help. So maybe looking at your life and doing the same ie reducing stress could help you too. Good luck, I really hope the clomid works for you x

Thanks Cherrychops, thats a lovely story. I hear a lot of stories where clomid has worked rounds 1-3 but not many after. Maybe there is hope after all. I totally agree with the stress thing, thankfully my job isnt stressful but all i do is think about TTC, like im obsessed which causes me a lot of stress! I know all my dates for ov and af etc so its hard to try and forget about it for a bit. Maybe a hobbie is a good idea!

I pop back to LTTC occasionally as I was trying to fall pregnant for nearly 3 years. I took 7 rounds of clomid in total, 50mg didn't work and I fell pg on round 6 of 100mg and I'm currently 28 weeks. I hope that gives you a little hope as I needed stories to help me when it didn't work at first. Good luck x

I am starting 1st round days 5-9 @ 50 mg. We have not done extensive testing but we seem to be unexplained. I'm a little nervous. I never thought I would be going this route.
