Hi ladies

I went to the toilet and noticed a thick white glob of jelly in my knickers, Ive looked at pictures and have worked out its my mucus plug, it wasn't bloody or brown just clearish white sorry tmi!

I'm not sure if I should be worried or not as I'm only 31 weeks I had a scan earlier this morning baby was fine apart from being extended breech :(

Any help would be appreciated :)

Don't worry, I've been losing that since about 25 weeks - think you can get that the whole way through really x

Are you sure its your mucus plug and not just discharge? Discharge increases a LOT at times during pregnancy and you get all sorts of weird and wonderful goo excretions! Mention it to your midwife if you are worried and I'm sure they can reassure you!

It does sound like your mucous plug, but please don't be worried- its normal to lose it during any part of pregnancy and it just re-generates itself. :) I personally lost mine at around 24-25 weeks and have started to re-lose it now at 39 weeks. xx

Thanks ladies, I don't remember losing my plug with my son, so a bit concerned as I had him 4 weeks early. And with this pregnancy were not even sure when I conceived as I was on the mini pill. So we're just going by what the scans say. I see my midwife on Wednesday so should I just wait and speak to her then??

Yeah, that should be fine- I really wouldn't worry. :) If in the meantime you start to get pains or start to bleed heavily then obviously give her a ring. xx

yea ive been losing mine on and off since early 2nd tri bab - mine normally happens after DTD  ive been told only to phone if its tinged with brown/pink or red in it xxxxx

I have been losing what google imagines tells me is my mucus plug since 29 weeks. I actually took some to show my midwife (v. embarrassing) and she said it was just mucus discharge and they don't consider it properly the 'plug' unless it's blood stained so not to worry. I get some every day but don't worry about it now. Don't worry :) xx
