I wanted to started a post on this topic. I am 24 years old and have been over weight all of my life. I have recently read that women like myself will have trouble conceiving because of the extra pounds. So to combat this problem me and my OH are shedding the pounds in hopes this will help not only me to conceive but to also get us ready to chase a little one around! Are there any other ladies our there TTC and also struggling with weight? I'd love a buddy or two to talk with.

I am 26 and in the same position. I lost a lot of weight (Over 4 stone) but due to strating a new job and having a miscarriage in December, I have been doing A LOT of comfort eating and have put a lot of weight back on. I need to get back onto the weight loss horse but find it difficult due to the unhappiness of not concieving. Its a vicious circle! x

Good Afternoon Ladies, I'm new here but I'm currently in the midst of re-dedicating on Atkins, so loosing weight and trying to conceive...

Hi I'm also 24 and although I'm not really very overweight I am a bit and really feel that losing some weight will help things along (and my confidence). I joined slimming world last week and had my 1st weigh in today- only lost 1lb was was still pleased... Are eiher of you in a club like that? I'm finding it really helpful.

I used to do slimming world and thats how I lost all my weight but due to work commitments I cant go anymore. I plan to try and follow the plan myself now though and will start tomorrow (I have been ill the past few days so didnt want to start then) x x

I started a walking/running program today with my OH. We have been walking every morning for a week and a half. We walk about a mile and a half a day. Tonight I walked 2 and a half. Surpassingly I lost 4lbs since I stated walking. I'm not shy I will honestly say I weight 271lbs as of today. But trying to lose weight in order to get pregnant has been the best motivating factor for my weight loss I have ever had! Hopefully we can stay positive and support each other threw our weight loss and TTC!

I am on a mission to get down below 25% bmi and thats about 15 pounds for me. I am doing low carb thanks to PCOS. I am walking/hiking and drinking tons of water. Losing even 10% of my body weight is supposed to help with conception so I have been told. I want to be down before we do IUI later this summer.

I'm already in! Just bought a fertility monitor as well but have not used it just yet. AF came May7rh and already gone. I've been walking my puppy and watching what I eat. I also have a home gym in my basement that isnt really motivating me lol. I need to start drinking more water. I know this will work for us.

People really dont take in consideration that our health is everything! A doctor will try to shove drugs down your throat instead of telling you that simple weight lost is a world of difference when trying to conceive. I ovulate but not sure every month but when i was 10lbs lighter for sure I ovulated.

Baby dust to all! I know we can do this

Hi Everyone.

I would like to reccommend a book called Fertility Foods by Jeremy Groll and Lorie Groll. My OB studied under him during her residency.

Walking has already helped me as well! However If I don't have someone to walk with me I tend not to. Last night I tried to walk my one dog (he did okay until he tried to chase a bunny) then I tried to walk my female dog and she was like a yoyo running around! My OH and I walk before work every morning. It helps us start the day on a positive step, however I know this isnt for everyone. Good luck to you as well hun and Baby dust for all!

Tell me more about this book, is it based around ttc and losing weight?
