lost my plug and freaking out...

i am so scared! i never thought i would react like this. i am terrified!

been having lots of strong braxton hicks over the last few days, some of them pretty painful. went for a walk today in an attempt to persuade baby oliver to engage and then had a couple of contractions when i got home.

TMI... went to the toilet and thought i'd felt something 'slip' out... wiped to find a lot of dark yellow/light brown mucous so decided to look in the loo and there was my plug in the bottom! continued to lose mucous everytime i wiped.. it was so odd.

thought i would be cool or excited but i am just terrified.. my hands were shaking, i immediately felt sick, i don't know what to do!

i'm freaking out... i don't feel ready. what's wrong with me?

oh hun xxx ring your mw but i think it means your body is getting ready for the baby to come. it might not be for days yet. i think most women freak out when their plug goes!

I keep going on about it wanting to start .... but as soon as it does i know that i will proper freak out.

I would probably be the same if not worse, picture someone running around like a headless chicken! and like the poster above said it could a few more days before anything happens, I hope things progress well for you, freaking out is completely normal

It could be soon or it could take weeks, just relax you're gonna be brill. Think of how many people in the world have given birth and how many decided to do it again. Good luck chic xx

You will be fine! I can totally relate as I am due tomorrow and get more terrified each day with the reality that she will be here in the next 10 days no matter what (I am being induced on the 20th if she hasn't made an appearance). I am soooo ready for her to come out and really just to not be pregnant anymore but then when I think something might be happening (contraction, etc) I just have a feeling of panic! EEEKKKKK! We've only had 9+ months to prepare ourselves and we're still freaking out, too funny.

Anyways, try to take some deep breaths and calm yourself. I think it is just overwhelming because we've waited so long for our babies. Soon you will have your little one in your arms and all will be good. Keep us posted

Awww hun, good luck, give your mw a call if worried at all. I thought I would be fine and spent a couple of days in hospital with BP and now I am all freaked out about baby coming.

its completely normal hun when my waters went with my second i was a wreck i was shaking like mad!! Just trust that were designed to do this you will be fine and meeting your baby soon xx

just been to the loo again and same as before but slightly darker, i can't believe how much i'm freaking out!

going to put my natal hypnotherapy cd on soon and try and get back in the mindframe i should be.

well i'm having contractions but they aren't painful - coming every 7 minutes and lasting a minute or so... not sure whether it's real or not...

had a pretty crap night's sleep, period pains and achey hips and a few braxton hicks early morning which woke me up. still losing mucous but not having any more contractions at the moment! starting to think it might be soon though and feeling a bit more relaxed dreading my waters breaking now because i know i will panic like an absolute drama queen! how are you hun? everything ok with your BP? xx

Good luck hun, don't worry about the nerves, it's just the reality of labour sinking in. You might still have a few days left before you actually go into labour. Hope all goes well x

Definately sounds like its all starting for you!! I think its very natural to go in to a bit of a panic but you will do great!

I am good, quite groggy because of my tablets. Got MW later to check my BP so fingers crossed for that. I have been so calm until this week and now started to think - OH MY GOD.. must be something that happens at the end hey haha!

Will be keeping a close eye on forum to see how you are getting on xxx

be EXCITED...you're little one is coming soon!!!! I get so excited with every little cramp I get and would love to lose my plug and/or waters! I understand it can be a bit scary, but it's WAY better going into labour then waiting for it to start!

thank you hun! it suddenly gets very real when something definitive happens, especially when you have a stubborn baby that is still only 1/5 engaged - really took me by surprise!! i didn't think he was interested in coming out any time soon! x
