Low and squishy cervix??

So yesterday I was 4 days late for my period. I had some brown spotting on a liner and then today I was kinda bleeding like a period but lighter than usual for me. It was the same color but mild. So I checked my cervix and it feels so low I barely have to feel for it and like squishy. I've been reading that your cervix is supposed to be hard and lower for your period. But mines squishy. So I'm confused. Anyone been through this ? Do you think it's my period or something else.

Never mind. Pretty sure it was my walls being inflamed. I found my cervix and it's high and hard so pretty sure it's AF.
