Low Blood Counts STILL

I've been on iron supplements (a total of about 650 mg/day, which I think is probably about 120mg of elemental iron) for the past three months due to low platelet and H&H counts. I have the thalassemia minor trait.

Well, I had my blood drawn today to see how I'm doing - and my counts all went DOWN! Now I might need a blood transfusion and may not be allowed to give birth at the birthing center as I've planned. I'm just confused. What am I supposed to do?

I was told this may be the case with me last pregnancy. They upped my iron intake and it went up to just about ok. They also said that there was a possibility of iron injections. Has this been mentioned to you?
