Low FSH

i got my lab results back from last week. my thyroid, FSH, LH, prolactin, testosterone, and DHEA-Sulfate levels were all tested. everything came back normal except for FSH.

my FSH level was 1.1 mIU/ml. so the culprit is now known, and now i'm wondering what i have to do to start ovulating again. i'm on my 6th day of provera and will have a provera bleed soon, but does that usually jump start things and cause ovulation?

the nurse called and gave me the results, so i am still waiting for the doctor to call me so we can discuss further testing or treatment options.

has anyone had low FSH? what was the cause and how was it treated?

It sounds like you didn't do the blood test at cd2-4, in which case your fsh level will not be accurate to give an estimate of your egg reserve.

Actually, a low fsh is what you are after although I've never heard of a 1.1 level, the lowest I have ever seen is 4.0. A level of 6 would be excellent, 8 ok, 10 borderline, 12 a bit too much.

You will need to do that test again when AF shows.
