At my scan yesterday, we noticed my placenta was low. It's not covering my cervix but is right at the edge of it, sort of touching it iykwim?

I've to go back for a scan at 32 weeks to see where it is then, but was just wondering what peoples experiences were who have had this before? I'm reeeeallly hoping it moves, but have no idea what the chances are or if it's very common for it to move up?

Thanks ladies :)

I had one with dd and it did move up yes. I was told in most cases it does :)

I have a low lying anterior placenta and go back for a consultant scan at 28 weeks because there's a risk of it attaching too firmly to the scar tissue from my previous sections :( However the liklihood is that it'll move up and out of the way. I had my placenta in the same position during my last pregnancy and it moved up and out of the way by the time I was rescanned at 36 weeks. My midwife today said most move unless it is completely covering the cervix

Thanks ladies, great to know! The woman who scanned me didn't explain anything, just told me to go back :)
