does anyone else have experience of this i went for my 12 week scan yesterday and my sonographer printed a picture and the placenta is right at the base of the picture horizontal with the baby lying on its belly on top of this... im terrified il end up with placenta praevia anyone else have experience of this

I was diagnosed with low-lying placenta at 20 weeks. The doctor told me not to worry at all because 80-90% of the time it moves up by delivery. Sure enough at my appointment yesterday (25 weeks) it had moved up and I was "cleared" from low-lying placenta.

12 weeks is still very early. Many woman have a low-lying placenta at that point but it usually resolves itself.

What did your doctor tell you about it?

absolutely nothing at all they were running late and couldnt be bothered with me :(

I was diagnosed with a marginal previa at 19 weeks and given 0 restrictions. It was out of the way by 30 weeks.
90-95% of the time they move

thank you as it stands it completely covers my cervix

Hey... I was diagnosed with a low lying placenta at 12 weeks.... At 20 weeks it had still not moved(was touching the edge of the cervix) I was sure I'd have to have a c section as something that was still in the same place at 12 and 20 weeks would surely not move but today I had my 32 week ultrasound to see where it was and its now 8 cm clear of my cervix! So pleased!!! Fingers crossed the same happens for you xxx
