Anyone else have this? I'm so annoyed because I really believe it won't be an issue (based on what the sonographer said) but my midwife has just told me no more running. I'm ok to carry on with weights, yoga and walking (basically anything not so bouncy she said)

I've got another scan booked for 6 weeks time and will see my consultant then (I'm high risk because of previous preeclampsia) so am hoping it will have moved up and if I'm up to it I could start running again. Though I don't know if I'd be able to after a 6 weeks break.

Anyone else in the same position? Has it sorted itself out? It sounds stupid because there are obviously much worse things than not running but it keeps me sane!

I was diagnosed with complete placenta previa at 20 weeks. I got put on pelvic rest and no yoga. They checked again at 24 weeks and no movement so now we wait until End of August to check. I hate being on pelvic rest and no yoga. He said I can do meditation and yoga that is focused on breathing and stretching but not strenuous yoga. I understand that it is to keep baby and I safe, but it's really hard to not do yoga. It's what keeps me sane.

It's so frustrating not being able to do what you love isn't it! Luckily mine isn't placenta previa so I'm really hoping mine moves so I can get back to normal. I feel for you being on complete pelvic rest. Have you had any bleeding? I did between 6 and 9 weeks but nothing since.

I understand most cases of low lying placenta move. It doesn't appear that mine is likely to move. I haven't had any bleeding. Which, in a way, is really hard. Not that I want to bleed but it's really hard to feel fine and have had no symptoms and then have them tell you that it's a problem. It's one of those things where I don't feel sick so it's hard to accept that I'm not allowed to do certain things. Good luck with yours. I'm glad it's just low lying. Hopefully, you will get back to running soon.

I had this at my 20 wk scan with DD. I wasn't put on pelvic rest or anything so perhaps it wasn't complete, I don't think I was told much about it at the time. I was just re scanned at 34 weeks and it had moved up to the normal position. I remember worrying for all those weeks waiting for the 34 week scan but generally I tend to worry myself sick about things that don't end up happening and all is usually well.

I was told low lying placenta as well at 20 week scan. 9mm away. I had the scan done with a peri and she was overly cautious. Put me on pelvic rest and no lifting over 15lbs. I was devastated since lifting weights is a passion of mine. I've had no bleeding or signs of any complications. So 4 days later I had my reg high risk OB appt...this is the dr that delivered my previous two sons. Right away he said to me, you're normal, do not worry about this. He said he's 99.9% sure it will move up and felt that any restrictions were not necessary at this time since I've had no bleeding or anything to cause concern. I trust him as in my last pregnancy I did have bleeding for a different reason and he gave it to me straight and I was put on bedrest for the last 6 months of my pregnancy. Anyway, he told me to go enjoy my pregnancy and not worry about it and to just be reasonable. He said it's not like you're having sex everyday with two kids lol! A bit embarrassing but good point. I am also still lifting two days a week and lifting my youngest son with no problems to date.

hello ladies...

I am In a bit of soup. had my 12wk scan today and was told I have a low lying placenta. .but nothing to worry abt as of now.

my problem is that I am due to take a flight next week for an extremely important work related stuff. Now I have read that air travel with PP is a no no..but I dont know how much of it is a concern at 12wks.

I ll be discussing this with my OB on Tuesday. .any thoughts? :-(

Yep, me too honey :( Mine is only partial placenta previa, the very tip of the placenta is slightly covering the cervix. I had no idea until my 20 week scan. I have not been advised to do anything different by the sonographer but I'll be checking with the midwife next week. I teach dance and have been worried so I've had to rely on my co-tutor to lead a lot of the classes. It's frustrating as up until now I have been trying to stay as active as possible.

My sonographer told me she was 99% sure it would move. I have another scan at 32 weeks to check.

Thanks for this, mines 18mm away so I really think mine will be ok. But will be cautious until my next scan. Midwife said I can still lift weights and do yoga but just no running or anything too 'bouncy'. She honestly looked like she's never done a days exercise in her life so I didn't really think I could ask her advice about specific moves etc!

Demotivator I don't know about flying but that early on I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue. Hope you get an answer though. I've got a holiday booked when I'll be 28 weeks so I'm praying all is fine at my next scan! It's a friends wedding and I'd hate to miss it!

Leilana oh that's crap! Really hope it's not too much of an issue for your work. I know how frustrating it is to plan on having a healthy and active pregnancy and then have to take it easy!

Mine was touching the os but it took til 36 weeks for it to have moved enough to allow a natural birth. If its anterior then its more likely to move.

Mine is covering OS and is posterior. Scan tomorrow to check if it has moved

I bet yours moves up very quickly. I was told by the peri that 20mm is when all restrictions are lifted so you are already very close to that. Hopefully you can get back to running really soon.

Will do, I'll post in this thread after scan

So guys..i am meeting my OB today. My report says..

My placenta has moved up well out of the way however baby is in breech position. Back in 4 weeks to check babys position again

Congrats laurabe. Glad to hear that the placenta moved. I'm sure baby will turn around soon.
