Low progesterone at 5 weeks? So scared!!!

Hi ladies,
So at my first visit (4 weeks and 5 days) I got my blood tested for progesterone and HCG - my HCG was 991 (good) but my progesterone was only 9.3. The doctor said it should be 15 by then so she put me on a progesterone suppository (its gross, but I'll do anything for my baby so I don't care). Anyway, like anyone, I did some Internet searching and read that low progesterone is usually a sign of a miscarriage and sometimes supplements can just delay the inevitable. The doctor didn't seem worried but now I am! I haven't had any spotting at all from the start, so I guess I have that to ease my mind, but I have no symptoms and I just don't "feel" pregnant right now at 5 weeks 3 days. Is it still to early to tell? I'm going to a high risk ob next week for a consult and I'm going to beg them for an ultrasound since I'll be 6 weeks 3 days along.

Did anyone use crinone progesterone suppositories or have delayed pregnancy symptoms??? I'd love to hear some success stories from you ladies, because going crazy with anxiety and nerves!!

I am on a progesterone supplement, I had the same situation. Low Progesterone, but normal HCG. Some of the things you read online will scare the crap out of you. But many women on here have had to go on progesterone and did fine. I wouldn't worry yourself too much!

Hello! Like you, I had normal Hcg levels and low progesterone at 5 weeks, and my doctor started me on Prometrium. I took it every night until I was 12 weeks (I will be 13 weeks tomorrow!) I didn't have any problems with it, but like you, was concerned that taking this suppository was just prolonging the inevitable (miscarriage) but obviously that wasn't the case! Trust your doc and keep the faith! You and your baby will be fine!!!

Hi, I am on crinone gel suppositories, I was put on it right after my IUI, I believe this may have been what helped me to get pregnant.. I believe I have to say on it until 12 weeks. It is kinda gross with the discharge at times but I believe it can def help with your pregnancy.. good luck!

I was on prometrium from 4-12 weeks. Don't let it stress you out. You are doing something about it!

I too was on oral progesterone and suppositories due to low levels...My levels have gone up and everything is going great!! I think you probably caught everything in time so I wouldn't worry!! and try not to read too much online...it sometimes will freak you out!! keep us updated and good luck!!

Hello! I'm on the crinone too, and its nasty I know....but hopefully it works!! I'm scared too that it will just delay things, but what can u do. I have to keep the faith that in two weeks when I get my scan everythign will look fine, and as long as I'm not bleeding things are going well right?? still scary tho...

My HCG was 1118 at 4w5d and progestrone was at an 8. I was put on 200mg prometruim by mouth once a day, and have a healthy boy growing and due in the next 2 months.
