On Friday I was admitted to hospital for suspected ectopic, everything is inconclusive and I have to have a repeat scan on Friday because the sac was empty.

My bloods for friday and yesterday were back and I got the results this morning. fridays was 56686.0 and yesterdays 66919.0.

I am under the impression that low rising hcg results in miscarriage eventually.

I have to go back tomorrow, for another blood test.

Trying to cling on to any hope. But I can't find any now

Are you sure of ur dates?
I have had both an ectopic and a m/c, and tbh there is nothing that can reassure you or that you can compare to, because everyone is so different. It really is just a matter of waiting, which i know is the hardest part ever.

Ur HCG hasnt doubled like it should have, but that doesnt alway mean that something is wrong. Usually tho, something is seen by 7 + weeks, thats why i ask if ur sure on ur dates.

I do hope everything turns out to be ok for you. Thinking of you xxx

Also you may get more advice in the miscarriage support or 1st tri sections rather than this one x

thanks, I have posted in 1st tri and only had a couple of replies, of well wishes, which is very kind.

I miscarried on 3rd october so I am aware I may have ov'ed later than normal.

Thank you any way x

After 6 weeks you no longer expect a doubling of HCG. It could double in as much 96 hrs. Usually they dont test for HCG at 8 weeks for this exact reason. Have you had a scan?

when i had my suspected eptopic last year they tested my blood 4 times every 48hrs and the consultant explained it like this... with normal pregnancy at this stage your hgc levels should double every 48hrs, with eptopic they would more or less stay the same and misscarriage they would decrease dramatically each 48hrs, i know what you are going through and the waiting is so hard, fingers crossed everthing will be ok xxx

Catgirl there are different rates of doubling times depending on what the level is at. At over 6,000 your hcg would be expected to take longer than 96 hours to double. At that stage hcg doesn't really mean much anymore as you should be able to see a foetus on a scan and a foetus with a heartbeat means a lot more than what your hcg level is at.

Just two more sleeps and you find out. I have my fingers tightly crossed for you and your little bean fxfxfx
