LO is 12wks old and unlike my 1st has taken to breastfeeding. When I wake in the morning I am often leaking but towards the end of the day feel very empty. As the day goes on LO takes longer to feed so I'm wondering if I'm not producing enough milk.

He doesn't settle well during the day, he is wide awake but playful, but come 7pm he is grumpy.

Does this sound normal? He is asleep by 10pm and wakes at 6.30am.

Thanks

I would say if he is sleeping that long, he is probably getting enough milk :)

Could it be possible that he is feeding longer and becoming more grumpy because he is tired? My son used to nap in the early evening then wake and feed and play for a short while, does your son nap in the evening?

Very normal. Hormones peak at certain times of the day and milk flows freely. At other times LO as to work a bit harder. By evening if he doesn't nap well (like my LO didn't) he'll be grumpy and a lot less patient with having to work for his milk. You will be tired and stressed too, so letdown might be slower. If he goes to bed and stays asleep then he isn't hungry. My LO fought daytime sleep and was also up every 3hrs in the night to nurse at that age - so that was one grumpy baby by 3pm!!!!
