Is lower back pain normal this early into pregnancy? And what can I do about it? I can't sleep!!!!

Iv had lower back pain, i get it before af, so i was sureee i wasnt pregnant this month but hey i was wrong :) n e way i was worried so i went to the docs about it and he sed its normal to have lower back and stomach cramps and long as its not unbearable and there no blood with the pain, its worrying but now mines gone and i wnt it back! Lol dont worry! And as for pain relief your fine to take a paracetamol, but iv bought some radox muscle soak salts to put in my bath, i have a nice soak every night (water not to hot) and then get oh to massage it. xx hope it gets better xx

i wrote same post, im 5 weeks tmoro, and found it strange to have such a sore back, but everyone seems to think its normal. my friend also a midwife and she says aslong as im not getting cramp along with it. aparently its to do with hormones that are released, even at this early stage. xx

I suffer from it and there isn't much we can do but a good soak in the bath helps/hot water bottle/paracetamol can also work. You're not alone with your achey back. Mine is hurting as I type this lol, hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy xx

I took a long bath and it really helped! Thanks!

I had some very intense back pain when I was about 4 weeks along as well, and it terrified me. I thought if I was hurting so bad this early into the pregnancy, there's no way I'd last through to 9 months. Thankfully, this pain only lasted a couple of days for me, and my back feels pretty good now. Maybe it was my body's reaction to the initial release of hormones, I'm not sure. But I hope you have the same experience I had and it just decides to go away as quickly as it came. Good luck!
