Hi Everyone-
I'm wondering if anyone out there has been through failed IVF cycles and gone on to conceive naturally.
Here's my story:
So, now I'm at a loss for what to do next. Our insurance has covered pretty much everything (except a couple of visit co-pays and medicine co-pays), and in MA we are "entitled" to 6 IVF procedures. I don't know if I want to fight it. I'm not convinced that IVF is the way to go, necessarily. I am actually a whole-health educator and, in most areas of my life, I explore many avenues for me to get healthy. With this, however, I think I panicked because of my age and just rushed into IVF.
I am wondering--what have others done when the money or insurance ran out for IVF, or if they just decided to stop pursuing IVF? What are my options? Any experience in this area? It would be amazingly wonderful to not have to go through shots and blood-draws and stirrups every-other-day!
Thanks so much for reading and (hopefully!) responding.

I'm wondering if anyone out there has been through failed IVF cycles and gone on to conceive naturally.
Here's my story:
- I'm 38 as is DH.
- We stopped using protection in July of 2009 and, after a few months of "winging it," I investigated all of the over 35 "tips" from BBT charts to CM and all of the fun things that go with the charting.
- After another six months or so we began seeing an RE who scheduled us for an IUI which failed (4/11). She said DH's sperm count, motility, and morphology were all in the low or normal/low range.
- We tried 2 IVF w/ICSI cycles in the fall of 2011. (~8 eggs retrieved--only 2 embryos survived...both transferred...both failed.)
- We took a break (during which I lost 40 lbs and my husband quit smoking and drinking) to return for another IVF cycle in Aug 2012. His numbers improved marginally; my egg production declined though (actually my RE spoke as if my egg production were the bigger problem all along, though this was not the message we'd gotten previously--it seemed his sperm was the primary culprit until recently, but the RE seemed to think it was clear I'd been the bigger problem...weird and frustrating).
- After that failed cycle, we went again in Oct. I was out of town so we had to wait for a 3 day transfer (instead of the 2 day). Only 1 egg fertilized but it didn't make it to day 3.
- The Dr. called Friday to tell me insurance will not cover more procedures since we're getting poor results.
