Hi ladies,

So it took us a while to conceive our daughter, helped in the end by acupuncture and Chinese herbs. We are now doing the same approach again after ntnp for 9 months and ttc 9 months. But despite high hopes for the Chinese meds, this time nothing is happening. I am getting spotting at random times in the cycle. This month I started spotting 3dpo, and am now very slightly staining every day (now 7dpo). I get spotting after ov every month. The past two night I've also woken up sweating, and I'm terrified that I could be too late. I'm *only* 30 (well, next month) but my mum and nan went through menopause at 45, so I'm worried this could be the start of perimenopause for me

Any support/opinions gratefully received!

Xx

:hugs: I know it's hard to not believe the worst but there are many other explanation for the symptoms you've been having. Spotting,as well as the night sweats you've been having, can also be caused by thyroid problems. Other reasons could be endo, fibroids or polyps.

Chinese acupuncture is great, but at some point you probably need to consider going to a specialist for testing. Your troubles could very well have an easy fix.

why would you automatically think menopause you appear to not of been tested and have no family history from your OP... there is absolutely no reason to jump to that conclusion, your symptoms could be cause by a million more plausible issues

first off make a doctors appointment to be tested for blood work and maybe see if you can have an US if your tubes/ovaries... no point stressing about crazy things, think donkeys not zebras

This is a fear that all LTTTCers go through. It is hard not to fear the worse and get yourself all lathered up, but please try to remain calm.

There seem to be a lot of woman that start spotting after acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbs, some that were fine using this approach for months until it started. It could be completely unrelated, or it could be your body is reacting to an accumulative effect of one of the herbs.

If you are really concerned about the menopause, you could consider an Ovarian Egg Reserve test - but these things have a reputation for inaccuracy so could cause you more stress than good x
