I was just out shopping and saw a lady empty her child's sippy cup and then pour some lucozade sport into it and give it to her. I'm guessing her little girl was about 18 months old. Is it just me or is that really bad?? I know it's not fizzy but my husband drinks it and I'm sure its an energy drink which can't be good for babies and young children. I was so shocked, I couldn't stop staring. I just don't understand why she emptied the cup and then poured lucozade sport into it??

Yuk, that stuff is vile, its and energy drink and last ime i checked toddlers dont need added energy!!!

V xxx

I would only give myself, let alone a child, any form of lucozade if I'm ill. Maybe she's had an upset tummy but that begs the question, why go to the shops if that's the case?

I remember once seeing a toddler drinking irange lucozade from the bottle. He' obviously had a lot as his top lip was orange. His mum then took it off him andhanded him a packet of buttons.....would hate to have been in that house later that day! :dohh:

blimey that is bad.

altho from the age of 4 my mum used to give my little sister lucozade wen she was really ill as it was the only thing shed have. but 4 is alot different to 18 months.

zane wont be having anything like that for along time

Awful!!!! I wouldn't even touch it. So much sugar or fake sugar.

and people wonder why we have a generation of kids in school that are hyperactive and play up.......

Ugh, reminds me of Jamie's school dinners when he was arguing about healthy food with a mum who was bottle feeding her baby cola.

That is really bad. It's one of my bugbears, giving young children sugary stuff. I mean WHY? (aside from the upset tummy issue). It almost makes me laugh when my friends say they feed their 9 month old ice cream then in the next breath complain that they won't sleep at night :dohh:

Urgh, that is disgusting. Some people these days!! Why do people insist on filling their children with crap? It's not good for them, it's jus going to make them hyper, fat, and loose all their teeth. I'm going to try to make sure Bella doesn't touch suger until she's much much older!! And even then i'm going to make sure it's a treat, not a daily occurance!

Glad it's not just me who thinks its disgusting then! I only give Sam water to drink becasue I am worried about his teeth and he only has 2!!

I once gave Grace a bit of lucozade sport. She had finished her drink and was eating something and started choking. When she stopped she was rasping and her eyes were watering and the only thing I had on me was that so I gave her just a little drop of it in her cup. I wouldn't give it to her normally, she certainly doesn't need the energy! Bit weird why the woman would empty what was in the cup already :/

madness !!! my goodness !!!

My son occasionally has sweet things but in moderation but drink wise i think he and only ever tasted cola once and it was a sip, for him it's water or apple juice but if you dont introduce these things they dont ask for them!!! easy...

Is There a Possiblity Tha It Cuda Been Normal Orange Juice. Cus I Keep Normal Orange Juice In Bottles When i Go Out. -

But i agree why give a child a energy drink....... theyve got plenty of it lmaoo

I don't think so- think she had just bought it as she had one of those 4 packs and it was outside tesco.

I know that my friend drinks it sometimes as she is diabetic and it helps bring her blood sugar back up so maybe the toddler has a reason she drinks it.

though if there isnt then the mum is a bit of a kn*b. I dont understand giving kids stuff like that until their at a age where they can make the choice themselves
