Hey everyone,

Well I know it's not ideal to lie on your back and i've been sleeping on my side this whole pregnancy. I've only just realized that I have a bath for about 45 mins a day and lie on my back?

Should I stop doing this or is this ok? We don't have a shower and it's getting far too cold to have quick washes...plus long baths feel sooo good!

Thanks! x

I can't see anything wrong with that - I wish I could lie on my back in the bath - if I got into that position I would never get out unless a crane helped me out lol x

The water supports your skeletal-musculature frame. Do not worry about it!

Isn't the lying on our back only a prob if you lie flat down on your back?
In the bath you are probably more sort of reclined which is ok I think. After hours of sleeping on my left I usually wake up with hip ache so I sleep rest of night reclined against pillows, maybe slightly tilted to the left.

wish I could read in the bath, my bath is too long so I can't hold myself up! (or I'm too short)

x

I am forever waking up in the night on my back, surely if I wasn't comfortable or the baby was distressed i would wake up? I also have long baths but tendo lie on my side in a really deep bath! Xx

I wouldn't worry about it, I physically can't sleep on my side at all- it hurts my hips too much. I have clearance from both my doctor and midwife that it is ok to lie on my back, as long as my head is propped up- which I guess it would be in a bath. They both said that my body would tell me if it needed me to move (for example if the baby was lying on a major blood vessel or something). :) And also, there arent many other ways I would imagine you'd be able to use a bath? hehe.

Just be careful hoisting yourself up and out, as its so easy to slip. xx
