Sorry for all the daft q's I've been posting lately! I know it shortens the lifetime of most microfiber inserts to go through the dryer, but will I encounter the same problem if I dry my bamboo inserts? Or are natural fiber materials less "fluffy-dependent" than the microfiber ones? I haven't noticed much in the lint trap when I dried some this morning, but I'd prefer they last a couple kids. Thanks!

I'd say it's the other way round actually. Microfibre does better being tumbled than bamboo does; the bamboo fibres will break down in the heat over time. It's like hair - if you use a hair dryer every day your hair will be smooth in the short term but it will end up in poor condition. Same happens with bamboo - tumble dry it much and it is softer on a day to day basis but it very quickly loses its silky feel and will never be the same again.

If you must tumble dry them, do them on low heat but it will still ruin them over time. A quick 10-15 mins on low heat then air drying will fluff them up a bit but not be too harsh. I wouldn't dry them fully in the dryer if you want them to last though.

I dry my inserts half the way so if it takes 41 minutes to dry on a medium heat, I will dry them for 20-30 min than place them in a spot that they can air dry the rest. The down side with this, is u may want more inserts than diapers.

i tumble dried my bamboo inserts/boosters and frankly they are f**ed now, They look appalling, have BOLD spots in places and just feel all floppy and horrible....I doubt absorbency is any good and they haven't even lasted this child to potty training.

Iv learnt me lesson, i wont tumble dry ANYTHING nappy related for more than 15mins just to make them "fluffy"

I also think this is why the elastic went so much quicker in some of my nappies! x
