Madelyn????

We are really sent on naming our little girl Madelyn, but I see so many ladies that are naming their little girls the same name.....Is it wrong for me to feel like that shouldn't be my baby's name because I feel its too popular?

Alot of people are bothered by names being 'too popular'. I can see why, there's the chance that there will be lots of other Madelyn's running around at school with her! Personally I think Madelyn is a really pretty name and if you feel it's the right name for your little girl then popularity shouldn't matter! xx

it may be alot of people on here are using it but it may not be popular in your area. if it feels right use it.
in a way even if i were to find a very popular name that i fell in love with i wouldnt be able to use it as OH isnt really into names that are classed as popular as to him they dont sound right with our last name.
luckily the less popular more different but still pretty names go alot better!
if it feels right that your little girl should be called madelyn then it must be the right name for her. xx

The only other Madeleine i know is my nan! Maybe its popular by regions, because it isnt very popular in my area, my children go to the biggest primary school in the borough and there is not a single Madeleine/Madelyn in the entire school. xx

I think Madelyn is a gorgeous name! I say go with whatever name you like! You never know -- a new movie/new singer could become a huge hit & all of a sudden some uncommon name you chose could become super popular! There is no way to predict what names will eventually become very popular.

I only know one little Madelyn, personally...

My LO is called Madelyn and until I came on here I had never thought it was common. I don't know any other Madelyn's and it wasn't in the top 100 girl names in the UK for 2009.
