Today we had our results from hubby's fertility test with very vague outcomes. Here's what he said
his count is 1/20 and his sperm has a very high rate of abnormalities (morphology), that's it!
He explained that he really doesn't know much in this field and he will refer us to the urologist.
So I really have no idea what this means can anyone shed some light?!
I know we will get some clearer answers however I really would like to understand at least what this could mean!
Excuse my ignorance:)

DH and I are on cycle 14
Thanks in advance:)

Did you get the actual numbers from the tests?
The only way to find out if all is good or not is to compare his actual test numbers to that of the average and go from there.

All i know is having a higher than normal morphology is not a great thing, however there are many vitamins males can take that have proven to help lower this.

good luck.

Hi there Cherrypie99,
I have been there with the vague numbers on an SA. Usually the first number they give you is the count per milliliter. Like 1 million per ML. The first test I got was kinda the same as they didn't really care or know much. Getting them to give you the printed results might make it a little easier to understand.

Okay so I asked for a copy of the results....
If anyone has similar experience or knowledge please reply:)
Says
Motility, to low to assess
Count 1(lo) reference normal as greater than 20
The morphology lists all the abnormalities the observed
At the bottom it says
Interpretation
An increased number of abnormal forms (>40%) are noted.
It is generally assumed that such aberrant spermatozoa are incapable of fertilization

So......does this mean like not possible at all would any treatments even be an option?
Please excuse my ignorance!
We have many appointments in the next few weeks just looking for some help
Thanks:)

I can see from those results that the lab tech determined that the sperm count was very low and the motility was nil. There are things that cause results like these and another test should be done for sure. On a normal test where they are able to verify - you will see actual numbers per. Hopefully this helps and don't worry - lots of things can be done to improve the MFI problems.

Aside from what a doctor may be able to prescribe, I would have him start taking vitamins, a good multi vit, and additional zinc and folic acid. Those are the changes I made to my dh and his count came back with a decent improvement. Make sure your avoiding hot tubs, baths and tight underwear. I have heard really good reviews about fertilaid for men, although never tried it myself, perhaps look into that??!
Best of luck !!

Thanks:)
Ordered some fertilaid last week!
We just had our second SA so hopefully, maybe it will be higher.
We are waiting for our appointment with the fertility clinic, I'm staying positive but realistic:)
