YIKES!!! I feel like I've been hit by an enormous truck!! Yesterday, I was absolutely fine....my breasts started hurting a bit, I found a knot and massaged it, woke up at 1:00 am with a temp of 103!!! What causes this? I went to the doc this morning and got put on antibiotics. What can I do to prevent it from happening again? I've heard that some people are just more "prone" to getting it. I don't want to do this again!! I feel absolutely HORRIBLE!!!

I BF for almost 4 years, and thankfully I only had one mastitis infection. I had a similar story to yours...quite sudden and out of the blue. I have no idea what caused it...I wasn't full or anything...nor having any probs at the time...I had been BF for a loooong time when it happened. Hopefully yours is just a flukey thing too, and it never happens again. You should feel better really soon...once I got on the antibiotics...it was like a day or two until I felt good again. (hugs)

That doesnt sound nice frog, i hope u feel better soon pet

I have had mastitis too hun and I know how horribel it is. I hope you feel better soon!! :hugs:

I currently have this too so understand exactly how you are feeling. The antibiotics have started to kick in for me so feel lots better than I did but still not 100%. I am lucky that my husband happened to have this week off work or I would have really struggled but hes been great!

Hope its cleared up for you now :hugs:

That sounds awful, I hope you all feel better soon :(

You're still breastfeeding on the infected breast right? Just keep masaging it and make sure you empty your breasts everytime you feed/pump! luckily I never got it but did some reading on it. You can google it and you'll get alot of great tips.

Good luck hope you feel better soon!!!
