MaterniT21 instead of Amnio?

I live in the US and this is my second pregnancy and if you are talking about the test I believe you are then I would take it over amnio any day. I have now had it with both my pregnancies. It is completely non-invasive and all they do is get some blood from you and then give you a scan between 12 and 14 weeks for measurements. Then do some kind of correlation between the two and see if you are at risk and need more testing. I won't know my results for another few weeks as my next appt isn't until June but I definitely recommend it if you are wanting to know things like that. Plus it gives you an excuse to get a scan ;)

Yes, there is the blood test that is a part of the 1st trimester screening that comes with the NT scan measurements. That's a great one to start. This is a different blood test, a new one... ? I dont know if you're talking about the one that has been in use for years that does the Pappa-A testing or if you're talking about this one that checks the DNA. This one is REALLY new and much more accurate :)

Hi, I had this test done 2 wks ago. The nurse called, during the wk and told me the test came out normal, but did not give my any explanation. I have my 23 wk appt tomorrow with my OBG and hoping and praying for good news. I feel so relieve now, and calm. When I was referred to the maternal specialist, the specialist scared the s....out of me. Sorry, for my mouth was he made it seem like if my baby had it and he was already talking about terminating my pregnancy. I was scared, but thank god my test results came out normal. And, hoping and praying for a healthy pregnancy,
Wow, that must have been so scary waiting for those results! How long did it take to get the MaterniT21 results test back? I'm still waiting on mine... Confident, but nervous.

The test results take approx. 7 to 10 days. Stay positive. I had a feeling mine were going to come out ok and it actually did. Don't worry.

I just had this testing done and found out about 30 minutes ago that my results came back normal!! I came on the forum to post about it, and I found this thread!!

Although I have to say, MaterniT21 would NOT take my sample because I had no high risk factors for any of the Trisomies. I came back 1 in 542 for Downs so I did a self-pay option with the OTHER lab who does this test. There are actually two competing labs, same basic test. I used "verinata verifi test" ( because they would take me) and although the wait was tough, I am celebrating insanely right now!!!!!!!!!!!

Best of luck to you - these tests are true progress!!!!!

I had the test done at about 18 weeks and got the results back and all was good. I don't know why a doctor would quit doing it unless because of the cost because most insurance doesn't cover it.
