Hi ladies,
I'm so confused and just looking for a bit of help.
I lost my job so started a claim for income support. This is in the processing stage now, I have today just got a new job to start in September. It's only 16hours. Do I come off income support and just go back to tax credits or do I go onto universal credit?
I tried using the entitled2 calculator and it said I would get no tax credits but £338 universal credit but I thought that was for people out of work.

Any help or clarification greatly appreciated :)

It's replacing almost all benefits including child tax credits and working tax credits.

I'm in a similar boat and also trying to figure this out. From what I understand, once you start the 16-hour job, you'd likely need to move to Universal Credit, since income support usually ends when you start working that many hours.

If your new job is 16 hours, you likely won’t qualify for Working Tax Credit under old rules, and since new claims usually go to Universal Credit, that’s likely your best route.
