Hi girls,

Just wondering, when did you apply for MA? How many hours do you work? How long do you receive it for?

I'm sure that I'm eligible to receive it as my company don't do SMP. Feel a bit clueless as I've never claimed anything before so any advice would be great!

What do you mean your company 'dont do SMP?'

Isn't that illegal? How long have you worked at your job?

With regards to MA, you can get it from 29 weeks onwards (if thats when you take your mat leave) and get it for 39 weeks. I think.

I applied when I was 25 weeks, I believe. Although I arranged for the payments not to start until 2 weeks before my due date, as that is when I started my maternity leave. I worked 40 hours a week. I recieved it for 9 months. Good luck!

You can't apply until your 26 weeks - and you have to get a smp1 form from your employer saying why tey won't pay you smp. Although unless you don't earn enough or haven't been there log enough they have to all company's have to pay it...
I haven't worked for mine long enough to get it.
I'm getting 135.43 a week for 39 weeks (the most you can get) and I work on average 16-22 hours a week :)
They sent me a form back which ou have to send off when you have finished work stating the day you left :)
Good luck the forms aren't too confusing just long. I sent off 13 payslips as I got paid weekly if you get paid monthly you have to send enough to cover 13 weeks. So 4 payslips I think? Xx
