Hiya

I am just curious and wondering if some new mums can help. Basically me and hubby both work full time and when LO arrives we will be allowed to get £545 per year Child Tax credit (just over £10 per week. Now the maternity grant I never thought we could possibly get as we both work but I have just been looking at the criteria and it says

– Child Tax Credit at a rate higher than the
family element.
From April 2011 to April 2012 this means a rate of
£548 a year or more. These figures are for a whole
year and will be less for part-years. Your tax
credits award notice will include a breakdown of
your award. If your Child Tax Credit total is greater
than the amounts shown as the family elements
you may qualify for a Sure Start Maternity Grant.

So does this mean we will miss out on the maternity grant by £3 per year? Lol. These are the thresholds for CTC https://www.hmrc.gov.uk/rates/taxcredits.htm

I was wondering if anyone who get the same amount as me has claimed and been successful in the maternity grant scheme?

Thanks!!! :flower:

xx
