Maternity leave...

When I was pg with DS I began maternity leave at 38 weeks, working full time in a private day nursery. With DD I hadn't gone back to work so was a stay at home mum. This time I'm a SEN TA in a primary school working every day upstairs with a child who is *very* hard work and I'm stupidly not leaving until 8 days before I'm due I'm *so* ready to go now, I have spd and hip problems which the midwife thinks I've had since birth and I don't have the smallest bump, but I want as much time off with the baby afterwards and am on a ftc attached to the boy so want to be considered for other jobs when he leaves to go to senior school, hence me showing I'm comitted by staying so late

I've only actually got 4 more weeks before we break up for Christmas then I'm coming back the first week for 2 days before starting leave. Nobody thinks I'll make it til then, they all keep telling me they think I'll have baby over the Christmas period if not before, but I think I'll only be a couple of days either side of my EDD.

I've been at the school for over 3 years in different TA roles so they know me, hence why I want to show I'm commited and hopefully get another contract when this one finishes.

I finish next Friday (Yipppeee!) Can't wait! I will be 37 weeks, was going to work till 38 weeks but decided to move it forward a week a few weeks ago. I have managed okay though have found the past week tough. I think finishing at 35/36 weeks is probably the best though I am well chuffed I've managed to keep going till now. Next time I will deffinately try and save some holidays to use before.

I have 2 weeks of work left!! Counting down the days now! Will be nearly 37 weeks when i finish, really could do with finishing now tho......these last few weeks have been tough!

Am on my feet all day and am exhausted when i get home,then over tired and cant sleep when i get to bed!!

I plan on leaving at 36 + 5 since I work in childcare and it's the start of Christmas Holidays. Then I'm taking my owed vacation time to being me to my due date!

I finish at 36 weeks but in my head it's more like 34 weeks as I finish with the children when term ends in December but then only going in for the INSET day on 4th January. That's my official last day but as soon as the children go on 17th December I'm done!

34 weeks but i had 3 weeks of annual leave to take,
