Maternity pay / new job

Hey everyone,

My statutory maternity pay stops at the end of March and i am not going back to that job. I'm enquiring about getting a new job working from home so would be self employed - if i start this this month am i still entitled to get my maternity pay? I don't think i am but not sure where to check!

If you've started a new job then you wouldn't be able to continue to claim maternity pay from your old job. As you would no longer be on maternity leave, you'd be working.
